My niece used to work on cruise ships (Saga's 'Ruby' and 'Rose') as a dancer. I doubt she found it as relaxing as you - but she did get to go to a lot of places around the world she likely wouldn't have got to otherwise.

She tried to get me to go along on a cruise with her several times, but it didn't appeal to me. Horses for courses I suppose.

Have never been on a cruise. I think a river cruise might be fun.............down the Mississippi, or in Europe....but across the ocean doesn't appeal to me.
    Ta-Ta for now!

We did something like that last year

Two hot springs in Iceland, and Scara Brae on Shetland on the way back were the highlight

We tend to avoid US cruise lines because of the food - 50 different cakes and no plain vegetables is not good for my diabetes.

Favourite so far is Beijing to Hong Kong via South Korea, Japan and Taiwan.

Only one so far booked this year, Baltic and St Petersburg starting from Tilbury short journey from us.

What cruise line do you have in mind? It seem that half the cruise lines are actually owned by Carnival. I guess that alone would make half of them American.

I use British company Cruise and Maritime Voyages because of experiences on the likes of Princess and Holland America. Once used Thomsons for a cruise, and though the food was more Butlins than gourmet it was OK.
