Default Need a bit of help identifying this child-size ?porcelain tea set

I am still going through boxes of stuff I inherited from my mother.

I opened this small box on Friday to find this child-size porcelain china tea set

    I believe it was my mother's so c.1920s/early 1930s.

I've spent the last 3 days trawling Google, Etsy, etc. but cannot find another set of the same shape. Unfortunately there is no maker's mark

    Any ideas?

    Have you searched breakfast set?

1920/30's? Did they have cereal bowls in that shape then?

It might be a Mabel Lucie Attwell design, she did a series of children's ware for Shelley. It would certainly fit into that era. It's hard to say though if it isn't marked and you can't find an illustration of the same design. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabel_Lucie_Attwell

There's only one bowl, Gill - I thought it was the sugar bowl !

I've spent hours trawling various sites, including Pinterest and Etsy. I've found similar shapes for the teapot, but the other items don't match. My initial thoughts were that it's Japanese Lustreware.

Showed it to my father today and explained that I had never seen it before and that Mum had obviously repacked it in 1966 as that was the date on the newspaper wrappings. He vaguely remembered it - and he reminded me of the lovely china doll of hers that I used to play with - until I dropped it I would've been about 6-7 years old at the time. He said that after that, Mum packed a lot of her precious childhood stuff away to prevent further damage/breakages.

While I think of it there's 15 pieces - teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl and 4 each of cups, saucers and tea plates.

Looking at the images I would suggest 40's/50's era. What is the image on the milk jug?

Well Annie, I've done everything I can to help without success unfortunately.

TBH, I think the set maybe a copy especially without the marks. Sorry.

Which means it was given to me at an early age, but never allowed to play with it !
