    Default New Variations

Hey, I was reading the ebid newsletter and I see that ebid is now going to launch the new variations category to our choices for listing auctions. Way To Go Ebid!!!!!

There has been a lot of discussion about this throughout the forum I have noticed and some of it not so nice. Apparently it has been a long time coming - I hope this works well for us. And it was nice to read that ebid has been working on it behind the scenes for some time.

    Heres hoping for the best.

    Sending out GOOD VIBS......

    Connie

    Hi,

As you say i too was reading the ebid Newsletter and saw the news in regards to the New Variations. Since reading at the being of the month have been checking back daily to see if this has been implemented as yet but sadly not yet. Does anyone know when about this is suppose to go live in May, i know they have been saying about this for years but i think this is a the first time that they have actually set a Date (month) for this.

Any more info would be great!!!!!

eBid time is not equatable to normal space-time.

Meaning eBid does not have a very good track record of getting things out by the date they set. So it could be this month, next month or next year/years before we see this feature.

To be fair... the Newsletter didn't actually specify May 2016.

    Hi,

That a great lot of replies and was laughing whilst reading them, did have my doubts but one can only hope that they were actually on the tracking to sorting this out.

One more quick question though, if i were to list my items that i have again on eBid, am i correct in understand that when they finally do add the Variations that these listing should automatically be added together in one listing, provide it is just colour or size difference between listing?

As none of us have seen how variations are to be implemented then that is impossible to answer. I would doubt it though, as eBid making assumptions on behalf of a seller would be both difficult and risky. My guess would be that you would need to edit one listing to include the variations and delete the others.

The May newsletter says that they are still testing variations.

To be fair (again) adding them to a pre-existing system would not be easy - far easier when starting from a blank sheet. Plus there are Ninja, the app, bulk edit, spreadsheet, etc to do as well.

Having teams of programmers would speed things up, but I suspect there is only one person that really knows how eBid works at code level (so I hope they have him well insured).
