Default Help with Silver hallmark, please

Have just discovered that this vintage powder compact [probably was my grandmother's] has a Silver hallmark on the base.

As I know nothing about hallmarks, can anyone help?

The anchor shows that it's a Birmingham hall mark.
T&S could be Turner & Simpson..

Doing a search on another auction site for Turner Simpson compact will give you a pleasant surprise

Agreed. You beat me to it.

Unable to make out the date lette (but would guess between 1927 and 1941), though the other mark should be the lion passant. Likely easier to do visually than from the photo.

Found a match that agrees it is Turner & Simpson:

Thank you for your help Graham & Mel.

As my grandparents were married in October 1912, I've often wondered if this was a wedding present to my grandmother.

Will see if I can get better photographs of the hallmark, but they are quite worn.

As said, you can likely make it out better than we ever could from a photograph.

It's in a shield so, apart from a few orphans, that puts it between 1900 and 1950. It looks to be a capital - but hard to tell for sure, it looks rounded (e.g. G Q O U) but, again, hard to be sure from the photo.

Look here: https://assayofficebirmingham.com/se...g/date-letters and try to make the match.

Thanks again for all your help - *very* much appreciated.
