Default How would you describe this small knife?

Found this last night in a box of items belonging to my late mother.

The knife is 12cm / 4.75" long and has a serrated cutting edge.

    A travel picnic/butter knife?

I would also say it was a fruit knife. I've got one that belonged to my grandmother although it is a folding one, more like a penknife with a mother of pearl handle, but they came in leather cases so you could pop them into your handbag for journeys.

Hadn't thought of fruit knife because of the serrated edge - many thanks for that.

Squern - my parents were avid caravanners and National Trust members - and living on Cambs/West Norfolk border they had plenty of choice of where to visit

Wouldn't that fact make it a "dumpling" knife?

(With apologies to all from that county...)
