Found out that Technically Vintage is anything over 7 years old Yet I think of Vintage of 1920-1980's As Antique has to be 100 years old.

I don't know much about items other then jewelry, but IMHO vintage jewelry is anything over 10 years old and antique jewelry is usually 75+ years old, however dates are flexible depending on the seller's perspective; (got the dates info. from an antique jewelry website some years ago and it's the definition I use, as it makes sense to me).

I think it all depends what age you are
My daughter who is 19 thinks anything 1980's is vintage ( the 80's seem like yesterday to me)
So does it depend on your age as to what you think is vintage?
For me anything pre 1970's is vintage, 100 years for an Antique.
denoting something from the past of high quality, especially something representing the best of its kind.

On another site where I sell vintage is anything 20 years old.
It varies by the type of category; can't remember where I saw the category break out. It was fascinating, but I could see how it could also cause different answers to the same question.
P.S. I usually go with 20 years.
20 years seems to be the accepted 'norm'

I tend to stick with the definition for vintage cars, 25 years.
Because the category determines the definition of vintage, it is probably safe to go with between 20 years to 99 years (less than antique @ 100). Actually certain items were considered antique under 100 years. Is anyone familiar with that classification information?
Found a few links, but would like to see something more comprehensive.
Cars: Vintage/Antique/Classic http://www.carsdirect.com/classic-ca...ge-and-classic
General Antiques & Cars (differentiated): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antique
Jewelry: Estate/Antique/Vintage/Period: http://antiques.about.com/od/history...ry-Periods.htm
So it is not a cut in stone topic. Cars were mentioned as antique at 25 years in Wiki.
