If you have a look at the catawiki site, it often (not always) gives multiple catalogue reference numbers for stamps:

catawiki.com takes you to the home page, then you can search by several different criteria.

    Hope that helps

Wow, Bill, I'm still learning stuff about stamps and that is a very useful bit of knowledge

You'll soon be collecting stamps on postcards, and then you start noticing the postmarks and you are really hooked.

    Hi,

I've only just joined ebid so have come across this thread a little late but have you tried stampworld.com. They have a very good online catalogue which shows your stamps nicely here

Enjoy your journey into the world of stamps, and remember you never stop learning.

    Tell me about it !
I've collected thousands of German Postcards with stamps and postmarks.
I enjoy the research, it keeps me off the streets.
I will be adding hundreds to eBid over the next couple of months, I need to slim down my collections before I become obsessed.

Actually, thinking about it, I am obsessed

    Dear wise ones[

    QUOTE=MPS16;1570408] http://www.allworldstamps.com/result...&range=N&pg=88[/QUOTE]

Does this site have QEII stamps? (on the British page I have found it http://www.stanleygibbons.com/stanle...hstampsforsale no QE II)

Eg I have a stamp and I want to find out what year it is from (or what year(s) it covers from - to), what is the best way to find this out?

    Thanks

I often use a simple Google Images search when looking for stamp info.

Just enter ... QEII Stamp plus the value on it , e.g. QEII 3p

Hopefully you can find an image of the stamp and then do a more detailed search.
