    Greetings

    Yep, I have running water!
I'll never take it for granted again!
You are right Old, this country's water supply and sewerage is system is very, very old and causes many problems when it fails.
It can't be replaced so it has to be patched up when it fails.
United Utilities were good communicators, an email every hour with an update, so they deserve praise for that.
They have isolated the leak and diverted water supplies from elsewhere to us. It's going to take a while to fix the leak apparently.

I am a collectorholic, have been since I was a schoolboy. Got to get every item in a collection, at whatever cost.
When the goal is achieved and the thrill of the chase is over what do you do? Sell and fund the next collection of course, then you have 2 hobbies, buying and selling
Wanna buy a postcard collection? LOL!

I see that Swedish DJ/ Producer Avicii has died, I must admit to knowing little about him but he was a prolific producer and DJ.
Not all of his music is brash, loud festival stuff.

    Days, ..

I liked these words from the last song..
"I tried to carry the World, but I only have two hands"

Now you can tell your grandchildren that you've been listening to Avicii!

    Stay safe,

Well what a day on the forums yesterday, a hot thread was reported and pulled.
A thread about increasing sales on here which had a very active discussion, but e*** was mentioned so it got reported!
So be careful what you say around here.

Here's a rockin choon with an apt title

    Stay safe

    Cock a Doodle Doo!!!!

Doh, I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself, I have been very silly

Being of a tropical nature, and loving the sunshine, I spent most of the weekend outdoors.
We went to Felixstowe on Saturday, kiddies loved the beach - dunno why, it's all pebbles and a horrible grey muddy coloured sea - ugh!
Sunday, we spent nearly all day outdoors and we had a barby - the weather has been glorious and very hot here in the South East with temps around 27C, usually no bother at all for me ......

    ......... BUT .........

I had another chest infection last week, and was put back on antibiotics. I only hacked them for a week (instead of two) , so that I could enjoy a few bevvies at the weekend!
The leaflet warned "Exposure to sunlight, even for brief periods of time, may cause a skin rash, itching, redness or other discoloration of the skin, or a severe sunburn." I thought that I was OK ..... NOT SO!

Me face is like a turkey cock, nose redder than Rudolph's and my hands are red, blistering, throbbing like hell, and my legs resemble those of a Red Kneed Tarantula.

I stink of Lavender oil, which is said to help cure sunburn, which I must admit, has eased it a little.
It didn't start to hurt until Monday morning - maybe the anesthetic effects of a copious amount of weekend alcoholic beverages had worn off by then.
I'm sure you could fry an egg on my face.

Thanks for the choons everyone, I have one for you ......

    G'day all

Pos - I missed that thread totally! Persomally, I never mention that place by name EVER, (a) because I dislike them & (b) because every mention by name adds to their profile hits (auto-bots collect them)
PS. your music is in the mail.

When I was a kid, Mum used to dab Metho soaked cotton swabs on our sunburn to cool us down & soothe the burning. (NOT on broken skin however)
Also - the gel from inside the leaves of the Agave plant (or products containing it) are very good for soothing sunburn. We always had one growing in the back yard for this purpose.
It soothes insect stings as well. Hope ya feel better soon.

It being ANZAC Day - here is my small tribute to all those who serve & served during numerous conflicts.
This is the 103rd anniversary of the Oz & NZ forces landing at Gallipoli.
We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Below is this mornings crowd at the dawn service in Canberra - similar scenes occur nation wide to a lesser or larger degree!

    Hey, all!

I've been keeping an eye on you but by the time I get down to the Lounge, I've been too tired of sitting in this chair to post - so I'm starting at the bottom of the forums and working my way up today. When I can get out to do some serious shopping, a new office chair is on the list for sure! This one just does not adjust small enough to give me the support where I need it. Do you think they sell office chairs for kids?? LOL!!

I'm glad to see that everybody is doing well, with the exceptions of sunburn, man-flu, no water, etc.

Isn't being a "collectorholic" the reason most of us end up on sites like this?? LOL!! Buying a whole box of "stuff" at auction because I wanted one item in the box is the reason my storage (and house) is bursting at the seams!! If I didn't live so far out of town, I could just toss things out in the yard and have a sale but folks won't drive this far.

Don't worry, Old - NO neck collars for me - hubby would try to put a leash on it - NOT!!! I went last Friday to get a shot in the cervical cavity between C 5 & 6 and my two month long headache is finally going away. I've been going to physical therapy 3 times a week and that is helping my neck and upper back a lot. Unfortunately, getting things straightened out on one end is making the problems on the other end worse, so at some point in time, I'll be going through this again for my lower back. I thought I learned in school that the spine was ONE part of your body, but it seems that the insurance policies have broken it into 2 parts and only 1 part of the body can be worked on at a time. Too bad that idea couldn't apply to sale items with 2 parts - list a jar and it's lid separately and get paid twice for the same item?? (Sarc!)

I was very happy to be told that covering the chicken coops did NOT cause my neck to go out - it may have just made it happen a little sooner than it would have done on it's own. The chickens are very happy in totally dry coops and sometimes lay up to a dozen eggs a day, so I've been giving eggs away to everybody I can think of - lol!!

I was blessed with a really good hubby, as for quite a while I couldn't even bathe or wash my hair without help. He has been good to help out around the house and with the critter care but he cleans like a MAN and does not like to do yard work, especially pulling weeds in the garden, but a friend of mine called last night and she and her hubby will be coming out a few days a week to help me get the house and yard the way I like them - YEA - no more dust bunnies lurking around and I know my flower beds will be happy to be cleared of the flood debris and weeds so they aren't being crushed and crowded out. I've just been going without my glasses so I don't see the things I don't like - LOL!! I can do laundry as long as I pick up one item at a time but I can't fold large items like towels and sheets. I can also do a bit of cooking IF the pot is not too heavy and doesn't need a lot of stirring and I'm back to taking care of the critters, as long as there is nothing heavy to lift - gosh, I've missed that time of day! - so at least I'm doing something productive again. My friend's call was right on time as hubby has now come down with "man-flu" and is really dragging tail. I need to get better at interpreting his mumbles and grunts - any advice guys?? LOL!!

To keep my mind occupied, so I don't think about doing things that would get me in trouble, I've been camping out a lot in the living room - playing video games on the laptop and watching TV. CMT and AXS have a lot of concerts so I've been getting my "music fix". I've seen tribute concerts to Greg Allman and George Harrison (OMG! does his son ever look like him!!) REO Speedwagon, Willie Nelson (w. Ray Charles), Merle Haggard, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, the Bee Gees, Jimmy Buffett, KC & the Sunshine Band, Ray Stevens and a Rhythm & Blues concert with a lot of the old big names.

My "takeaway" from this experience is to never take anything in life for granted as it only takes an instant for everything to change AND to start practicing what I usually preach "You can't take care of others if you don't FIRST take care of yourself"! I've got PT this afternoon so I'd better go rest for a while.

    Y'all take care!!

    Shes

G'day all - Glad to hear you're a bit better Shesa! - I have dust bunnies I keep as pets (with names)

I'm getting my annual flu shot at the quacks, with next fortnights visit. Hopefully, that will see me through the season AOK.

Starting to get a bit cooler in the mornings here now (down to about 15C brrrr.) I have my jumper on & am looking for the slippers! But it will reach 25C later.
Early morning fogs have started again, not exactly pea-soupers yet - I can still see the house across the street (so far)

So, some choons & warming drinkies are called for IMHO - Enjoy!
