    Trish is back!
It's understandable that many eyes were not dry in the church on such a sad day.

I am so glad that you will be having a holiday too, Gran dancing eh!
I've not yet danced in front of my grandchildren, I will when they are old enough to be embarrassed though.!
Thanks for the drink, I like a bit of JD
Oh and as for that cheeky photo it might prompt books to get his kilt on again

Talking of Books, great selection of choons, such a variety of styles!

Here's one for Trish on her homecoming..

    Have a great day folks

    Good Morning!
Brrr ..... it's cold out there, just filled two lines of washing and my hands are numb with cold.
A good hot drink is called for methinks!

Yes, I agree - would be nice to see books back in his kilt, could be a bit chilly around the nether regions though if the wind was in the Trossachs!

Well, I'm ready for my breakfast now.
Anyone fancy a hot (bit of) crumpet?

Ooops - edited to say thanks Posbear for the choon - two beautiful singers singing beautiful lyrics. Excellent choice.

G'day all. - thanks for the tunes everyone!

Cheers for the pic Trish - that cheered me up no "end"
A little holiday sounds like a jolly good idea to me - there's plenty of time to worry about estate matters after everyone has recovered a bit.
Sounds like your Mum had a loving & proper send off - just focus on the good times you all had together. Funerals are a tough gig!
So glad your Sis was able to make it for the service also - what a brave person she is.
Would you believe that I just celebrated the 40th anniversary of my Fathers passing at the end of March. It's hard to believe 40 years have gone by!

You weren't the only one on his Pat Malone over Easter Pos - here I was, sucking on my one & only miserable hot cross bun!
It wouldn't have hurt your boys to dial the phone, at the very least. Whereas my confinement, is self inflicted & just how I prefer it!

I've just had an overnighter in Caloundra at my "moonshiners" place! (needed a refill) SO - a suitable pic & choon is called for!

    Hey, all!!

I've been popping in on occasion to keep an eye on you - glad to see that everyone seems to be doing well or at least as well as possible under personal circumstances.

To make a long story short - with a 12 year old diagnosis of DDD & spondylosis in my neck, I did something I probably shouldn't have done about 2 months ago, but the chicken coops are dry now! It didn't hurt too much at first - I haven't had a pain free day in over 15 years so I can tolerate pain pretty well. But it got to the point that it was just intolerable and I went to see the doctor about it. I was put on heavy duty meds for pain and muscle relaxing, got some shots in my neck but nothing helped. I've had a constant headache that affects the vision in my left eye for 6 weeks now, despite all the meds. I was offered Psychical Therapy but refused until I got an MRI done to make sure a disk hadn't ruptured or been torn, which took an "Act of God" to get insurance to approve and multiple trips to various specialists.

I finally got the MRI results back and there has been no permanent damage that needs attention (surgery)- just a bunch of pinched nerves, so I will be starting PT 3 times a week next week. The positive about that is my BFF is recovering from her knee surgery and guess who was at the PT office when I went in?? She is driving now and has PT 3 times a week. I can't drive at all so hubby has been taking off work to take me to all my appointments and I was really happy that they were able to put me on the same schedule that she is on so she will be picking me up and we can go "raise a little cain" while at PT together - LOL!!

Spring is definitely here!! The hummers started arriving this week and I just looked out the window to see a flock of goldfinches perched in some kind of big bush I have out there (dang meds!!) and the early flowers are blooming, despite the fact I can't get out to pull the weeds. Mostly, I just don't wear my glasses and from the house the weeds and flowers are blurred together We finally got the road fixed with a new (larger) culvert but all the flood mess is still in the yard - most of it is behind the old house, which I can't see from the window.

Anyway, I just wanted to say "Hey!" and that I've missed being here, but, as Arnold said........I'll be baaaacck!!!

    Big hugs! Y'all take care!!

    Shes

    Hi all

Oh dear - another one on the sick list! Thought you'd been a bit quiet lately.
Hope the Physio does some good for you Shesa!
I had a round of static neck traction, so I know what you're going through. (not fun)
Try to avoid a neck brace if possible - I reckon they are a last resort option IMHO (unless absolutely required)
Very mild traction, heat pads, relaxation, anti inflammatory meds & very very mild manipulation all can do some good. But it takes time!
Absolutely DO NOT let anybody jerk & wrench your head/neck around with sudden extended movements - that will only inflame the condition & prolong recovery! (So says Dr. Old) From sad painful experience!

Glad to see Trish and Shesa! We ended up getting a bunch of snow yesterday. Sadie was not happy, mainly because it was cold but she is loving it today. I've been busy crocheting, my dish cloths seem to have caught on big time. The one that's been selling resembles a mandala at least that's why I think it is so popular.

The lady I have been trying to help out was a real chatterbox last night. I talked to her every night and it's anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes of one sided conversation. For an introvert like me it's scream time. Enough griping. I'm not completely anti-social, for example my friend in New Mexico and I talked for an hour on Thursday (her birthday) but we only talk every once in awhile.

I bought a new dishwasher and they installed it Thursday. It is too quiet. It is sure nice though. I have only ran a rinse cycle as it takes me awhile to get it full to run.

I made a good stew Thursday, chuck steak, spuds, carrots, green beans, green chilies, tomatoes, onions, peppers and beef broth. We have had 2 meals out of it so far. Sadie likes the spuds and carrots as well as the beef. I am having trouble with the days - yesterday was Saturday. Today is Saturday too, hmmm not working out too badly. Had to make a quick run to the post office this morning, they close at 11:15 am on Saturday, but we made it. It didn't even take too long to clean the snow off of the pickup despite the fact that I parked it facing North. It is April after all.

OK, I must go crochet another dish cloth. You all take care of yourselves.

    Did someone mention kilts !

Looks like spring is finally here, managed to spend most of the morning in the garden now that the ground has dried out a bit. Now all we need is for the rain & snow to stay away and today's sowing should hopefully survive.

Trish I know how you feel about not seeing your mum & dad again, my mum passed when Ben was 6 months old, he's now 32 and dad when he was 10. I still think about them every day, today particularly has they both loved gardening, i'm sure if dad was here he would say your doing that wrong Melvin, but then say but carry on doing it your way if you get results.

Time for more tunes from the itunes playlist.

    Good evening/morning y'all!

Well, what a busy weekend I've had. Dominic and his girlfriend arrived back here on Friday afternoon - they had been to Amsterdam for a few days.
(It was Dom's treat for his girlfriends' birthday).
After raiding the fridge, freezer and cupboards for fodder, and stuffing themselves silly, they went to collect Dom's kiddies and bring them here for the weekend.
I don't know whatever them pair had been up to, to give them such appetites - maybe visiting the red light district of Amsterdam made them forget to eat, or perhaps they hadn't an appetite for food .....

Anyways, after catering for everyone all weekend, (full English breakfast, buffet lunch and roast lamb and turkey dinner just today) I can honestly say that I waved them all goodbye this evening with no regrets and cannot wait to run away tomorrow and enjoy a 5 day holiday break in Clacton. I have packed shorts, but I don't think the weather will be all that good, Essex isn't exactly Costa Del Sol is it?

Shes, it's good to hear from you but so sad to hear that you are suffering. Seems like Old has wore the tee-shirt 'been there, done that' and is offering some sound advice for you. We all want you to get better ASAP because you are precious to us, and miss your amusing and detailed antics with the critters and all the stuff that comes your way. Sending you hugs, and prayers for a complete recovery from your maladies (((((xxx)))))

Wyo, your crochet work is just amazing - ever likely they are popular. BTW, I know fully well what it's like to get phone calls from people that want to chat. With my four daughters, three sisters and brother and even my aunties that think they have an hour or so to spend and then phone me quite happy and willing to chat for AGES ... I too feel like it's scream-time.
AHA .... you say you made stew? Now then, you know the rules .... You have to share! I have my begging bowl ready -

Books - great to see you back in full swing, so to speak! I do so love to see you in your kilt.
Yes, you're right - we do dearly miss our parents and mourn the fact that our children/grandchildren will miss out growing up without a nan/grandad that spoils them rotten. My grandchildren are everything to me, we love each other very much. It's sad to learn that Ben was very small when he lost his grandparents.
As for gardening, oh I love it. I feel so happy when I'm out in my garden pottering about. I have much to do in my garden, (JR doesn't like weeding, but will mow the front and back lawns!) I have managed to fill a couple of buckets of weeds this afternoon, and planted the 10 Tulip bulbs that Dom brought me back from Amsterdam.

Posbear - hope that your spirits are high, and that you are enjoying life now that your 'orrible vertigo thingy has gone. Spring is here - or at least on it's way - so we must put our depressions behind us and look forward to better things. I think that's what I keep telling myself. Big hug (((((xxx)))))

Old - glad the pic cheered you up 'no end' LOL!!!!
Crikey - 40 years since you lost your dad - you must have been so very young then, what sadness for you. Having said that, my JR lost his dad when he was only 19. Very sad.
Hope you are enjoying the moonshine
I had better sign off now, as it's late and I am getting some stick from JR coz I haven't eaten my roast dinner yet!
