Thread: Cocktails!!! and Music

Progress has been made here. We got a fellow to come look at the sprinkler system at the park and I think it is working now. He is also going to give us a quote for updating the system as our sprinkler heads are getting old and worn. I'm thinking we should get it done while we have some dough, bucks, bread.

Liz worked today and we got a lot of machinery uses logged for the parts we are working on. Next up pictures. We are thinking about not doing anymore than that as I don't think a lot of people are looking at our parts catalog references.

Missy On is acting a lot like Sampson did before I let him go and today Liz said so without any cue, so, we'll see.

Guess that's all I know for now. Like Meebo said, it's good to have a moan, just for the sake of a moan and things are looking up a bit. Thanks for letting me shriek. Liz got my weed wacker started today and I knocked down some weeds that have been bugging me and now, I can probably do more tomorrow because once I get it started and run a bit, I can usually get it started again and again until it gets put away for the Winter. I think I will get some fuel additive to put in this winter.

I sold the Ford F150 pickup and it went to it's new home.

    Morning all

I actually have a steady internet connection this morning - YEA!! I was able to get 5 solid days work done in the yard before the rain started last week. We had showers off and on and several steady downpours - very little wind, or lightning and most of the thunder stayed in the distance but still audible to Jake who runs under the closest table every time he hears it. I did find that a bit of melatonin and his tee shirt on calms him down some. We missed all of the 4th of July festivities due to the rain - concert at the river was cancelled and the festival in the city park was held up due to a 2 hour downpour which started just as they were opening up. I did hear the fireworks about 10 pm - an hour later than usual, so I guess they got back on track. Felt really sorry for all the vendors who'd spent the day setting up for it.

POS - so sorry to hear you had to deal with another flare up of your Psoriasis. Very sharp looking bike your son's got there!! He needs to get a side car for you to ride in!! So the youngest son is back to couch surfing at your place? I would think that the outfit that paid for him to travel would have known he needed formal qualifications but at least he (and you) got a mini-vaca and maybe he will have the incentive to get his formal qualifications and be able to go back.

OLD - happy to hear that the Twang Fest went well and that the Dobro raffle went so well!!

It's a shame about Photobucket. I've got an account with them but have everything on this computer except the pages I created for a website I had years ago. Those, I can take a screenshot of and will have to crop, etc but at least I can save the information and use it when I get into selling more items on here. Is this the thread you were looking for? If not, just search for Photobucket and there are a lot of threads that come up.

WYO - you can come here and vent any time - as Meebo said, we can't do anything except "be here" but I'm glad you feel you can come and have a rant when you need to. It's good to get those feelings out!! It's unfortunate, especially in such a small town, that people can't agree to disagree on one subject and have to carry it on and let it affect others - especially when they should be setting a better example for the town's youth.

I'm so sad to hear that it's looking like Missy O's time in near. There is nothing I can say that will make it any easier for you or I would.

Yes, I'd say some fuel additive for the weed wacker would probably be a good idea! Don't work too hard now.

TRISH - sounds like you had a busy, but fun weekend! I know I'd have more fun playing with the kids than going to a BBQ - lol! Are you sure it wasn't playing in the ball pit that did in your back and leg??? Hope it feels better soon! The only thing worse than skeeter bites is chiggers!! UGH!!

Glad Lucia is recovering and I understand how you feel about her racing but not much you can do when they are grown

I'm sorry to hear all your good friends have passed and I seriously doubt it was because of you!! LOL!! Their lives were probably a lot more fun than they would have been, had they NOT known you

I've got baby chicks "due" any day so I'd better get my rear in gear and get ready for them. I didn't realize until this morning that today is day 21!! That hen I took in with the rooster laid the biggest chicken egg I've ever seen - girth measurement at it's widest points was 6" x 8" and it weighed 3.5 oz. My Barred rocks lay some big eggs but not like this one! I bet her little booty was sore after that one!!

    Y'all take care!!

    G'day all Howdy Shesa!

No that was not the thread. I did find that one. The one I was looking for was very recent.
But no matter, I am doing a google search for the top 10 photo sites & will check them out & choose one at some point.
Are you sure that chicken is not an EMU

We've had a few days of rain lately (which is welcome 'round here) & it has warmed up to the mid 20'sC, but another cold front is on the way from down south - brrr!

So - A few warming choons are in order I think

Hey all!! Waiting for the grass to dry so I can get started mowing.

No emus in the Ponderosa, OLD! LOL!!! I'll have to try to catch up on my flower pics to cheer you up with winter coming on. I sure did enjoy seeing your orchids in bloom during our dreary winter here.

I've always kept my photos on my PC so other than using Photobucket for sharing with friends (before FB) I've not used any other photo hosting sites. Good luck with your search!! I was rather surprised that after all these years of being free, that they suddenly started charging such a high price - maybe they were bought by greedbay??? LOL!!!

We've got a couple of days until the rains are starting up again, so I'd better "make hay while the sun shines" - almost literally!!

Loved the choon, WYO!! "Just can't keep her foot off the accelerator" is an inherited trait in me! My grandma got her last speeding ticket when she was my age, Mama got pulled over just a couple of years ago but was given just a warning. Knock on wood, I've only had one in my life.

    Y'all take care!!

Hello everybody, did you miss me? I have had a very busy few months. I was made redundant just over 3 months ago and spent a fair while trying to get another job. Pleased to say I now work at my local B&Q. I am enjoying it and work with a great bunch of folks. It is perfect for me just 20 hours a week but better pay than previous job. I have had the odd look in but not enough time to post (managed to keep my listings going and YDC). Also we have had a lot of hospital visiting, my father in law is in a pretty bad way, he has dementia and also major problems with his kidneys, so time is tight.
I did manage a weekend at the local Folk Festival again and picked up some nice Cds so I will list a few for you to take a listen to, hope you enjoy them. I will try to post a bit more, time allowing. Mel

    More to follow.

    [QUOTE
For years I have pretty much lived like a hermit. There are probably more people who will claim to be friends, but I think I have about 6 or so locally. I don't go to many social functions and even less here in town. Of course, there's not much going on in town either. I'm ready to crawl back in my cave now, thank you.

What an interesting story. I have just spent the last 20 minutes or so reading up about this guy. I can well imagine how easy it would be to disappear in the Maine woods having visited Maine many years ago.

    G'day all

Yep! sure have missed you Mel - glad to hear you've picked up another job, & at better pay to boot - nice one!
Hope your FIL is well looked after & kept as comfortable as possible. A very sad situation for all concerned I'm sure, so, all the best.
Couple of choons you may be able to identify with ATM?

PS you sure got my attention with Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin - wow, good stuff - & not just because of the reso! (played Indian style)

Shesa - Like you, I'm gonna host my own pix for awhile instead of looking elsewhere, & see how I go. If worst comes to worst, I'll look around some more?
I've managed to put a couple of new flower pix up in the garden thread & so far, so good!

    Hey, all!!

MEL - good to see you here, I didn't even know you were a "Cocktailer" so it has been a while since you posted - lol! Good on you for the new job!! So sorry to hear about your FIL - I'm seeing some signs of dementia in my mother and it is a sad thing for us to see.

OLD - off to look at your pics in the Garden thread. I have taken lots of pics - just haven't had time to sort them out and post. Maybe this winter??? LOL!!!

Baby chicks are hatching and I need to get out and see if any more hatched over night. We're keeping the babies in the house. After hatching one or two, a hen tends to leave the nest to be with the hatchlings but will continue to set if I take them away. The house cats sure are enjoying watching the chicks!! Two more nests are due this weekend.

    Y'all have a good week!!
