G'day all - yes where is everybody?

Trish - so glad to hear Lucia is OK & thank God for the protective gear! A face first slide like that is not good, thankfully the gravel would have slowed her down fast?
So! you want to blow the dust off speakers eh? - Well try this, & landlord Al may approve also.
Ooh yes - quite often had strawberries, sliced peach or mango on my weet-bix for breakfast. And there's nothing better for a BBQ than drained pineapple pieces tossed in desiccated coconut, with your snags, steak n' prawns! Yum

Well woke up early to a top day today to view a crescent moon with Venus right beside it, & not a cloud in the sky!
This is one of those days in Queensland we call "beautiful one day, perfect the next" Queensland, the sunshine state! so true today.

Could it be that I'm just so happy that the Rick geetar saga is almost over Yes! it's finally cleared customs & is on the way to its new home - Yee harr!
Just hope it's in one piece when it gets here? It is a long story but basically, the sender had insufficient info on the customs documentation all along, which resulted in this whole drama! But in celebration, I think I'll share a few drinkies!

Must be healthy - they've got fruit!

    Hey, all!!

"Life" seems to have suddenly gone crazy around here and work is getting backlogged. Very tempted to get WYO's bottle of Fire (my fave) and zone out a couple of days!!

We finally got some rain, one really nice one last week and then a gully washer on Sunday. Of course, both times I had no satellite for TV or internet but at least the electric stayed on. Bright and sunny yesterday but for some reason we were without electric for several hours???? Got my old phone out that doesn't require electric and got caught up with my mom. Neither she nor her doctor are pleased with her progress from the two cataract surgeries so she is pretty bummed out these days.

Hubby went back to work last week - splitting his time between two brother-in-laws, doing construction work. One is remodeling a row of business shops into living quarters and a business for custom made parts for trucks and off road vehicles but that's off and on as the guy hasn't moved up here yet from FL and has to go back frequently to tend to his business he has there. The other is building houses and needs extra help, depending on what phase of building they are in. So that works good for him. Not so good for me, as his days off are when it rains and I don't have him here to help with outside projects. I built (by myself) a front porch, roof and all, about 10 years ago. Now it needs some repairs that I can't do by myself due to my back issues (probably caused by doing "man's work" like the porch by myself!) LOL!!!

TRISH - so sorry that Lucia had a wipeout Glad that she had no major injuries but I bet she's still sore as heck!! Thank goodness for "modern" protective gear! Dr's appointment went pretty good! I took in some old test results from another doctor and with the two I've had with the current one (x-ray for knee and MRI for back) are enough to prove that I have sufficient issues that require pain meds, so I do NOT have to go through all that again!! YEA!!!! I do have to have an ultrasound this week for the lymph issue. She said that they will require me to take antibiotics for 10 days to prove that there is no infection causing the lump to come and go. When I rolled my eyes and said "Seriously?!?!" she said "Just go get it filled" and winked at me. She also found a lymph specialist in Columbia that she is pretty sure spends a day in Lawrenceburgh every week AND takes my insurance - so no dreaded trips to Nashville!!!!! They took 3 vials of blood for testing and the nurse called yesterday with the results - cholesterol is high (258) but at "normal" levels for me. My B-12 is high, which is rare, so probably a good thing that I'm finally getting to tackle the lymph issue.

OLD - can't wait to see the Rick!!!! Hopefully, any day now

Need to go check on my chickens - I've got some VERY broody bantys, so I've given them some Barred Rock eggs to set and hopefully we'll have some baby chicks to sell soon Also got some new additions to the "family" - for the past 2 months I've been seeing domestic chickens walking down the road and in my yard (even saw a duck once!). They would be around for anywhere from a day or so up to a week and then disappear. There's some people down creek that used to have all kinds of critters and now all the pens are empty - not even a single dog around. I'm thinking they turned their chickens out for some reason??? And they are probably disappearing due to coyotes?? Well, there was this one hen and rooster pair that turned up about a week or so ago and "made themselves at home" across the road and would come into my yard. Feeling that they too would soon "meet their demise", I decided to catch them up. Took me a couple of days but I finally got both caught and in a cage - quarantined from the rest of my flock just in case they have a disease - but I've had them for a week and both seem fine and the hen has started laying eggs. They are young - his spurs less than 1/2" - and I'm pretty sure they are Buff Orpingtons, which originated in Orpington, Kent, UK!!

Y'all take care - I'll be back when I can!!

    Shes

    G'day all

Always up for a partee Trish - & as the Rick is about to arrive, there'll be a big celebration 'round here for sure! Bro sends his his best to Lucia & said "Whoops" at the photo. Hope your hols went well & you topped up the tan?
Glad to hear everyone's feeling a tad better, & all we need now is some sales action around this place

I'm off this weekend to my steel club's annual festival, where I'll be on the door selling entry & raffle tickets, plus catching up with mates in our steel community.
This means an overnight stay at a motel in the big smoke, so I may play up a bit!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAFgGQNJreQ

Here's our elder statesman of steel in Oz - Kenny Kitching, playing a similar Rick to the one I'm getting. He is also on our festival players line up again this year.
My geetar is 7 years younger than his model & nowhere near that price fortunately.

Yay! Let's all go to Old's place and jam!!!!

I just finished this cowl, it's a little different than the one I posted. I used a bigger hook for more accent to the lacy side of things and added the edging. I have arranged for a table at our local Co-op meeting, The craft fair and dinner starts at 4:30 - see y'all there!

    Whoop-Whoop!
    Partee's on!

What excellent news Old - now it's time to get this partee sorted .....
Oh, I just lurrved the bar fight clip - hee-hee! The guy with the hat reminded me of an old boyfriend of mine when I was young - he always wore a hat like that, he was a scrap metal dealer and led me into all kinds of trouble, but it sure was fun!
Have a great night at the motel son, and remember - life is for living - so g'wan ..... live it up!
Wow! Amazed at the pic of Rickie - she is awesome! Enjoy playing with her!

Shes, life is crazy at times - mine sure is as well. I'm finding it rather difficult to cope with having son and little 'uns here for most of the time. I think I'm too long in the tooth for what is expected of me - I have never felt so tired in my life. Maybe we should join Wyo and slog a couple or five large shots of the JD Fire!
Sorry to hear about your mom and her cataract probs - I had two cataract ops 2 years ago - and I'm beginning to think that something ain't right - I can hardly read now without using a powerful magnifying glass, and my vision is awfully blurred again. I guess I shall have to get my sight tested soon, when I get the chance.
I really hope that you get on OK with your Lymph issue, it's good that the quacks are checking you out.
Hope to see some pics of the baby chicks! My, what an exciting life you lead gal!

We are going to stay with Lucia at her farm in Cambridgeshire tomorrow evening, so may not be around much.
Y'all be good whilst I'm away .... ignore that last comment, be as norty as you can!

Just seen your message Wyo - Yes, lets all go to Oz and drink Old's bar dry!
Your handiwork is just amazing - you should do very well at the craft fair! Have fun!
(meet you in the local drinking hole after!)

C'mon down guys! n' bring those girlz with you Trish!
Nice work there Wyo - what's a cowl - pardon my ignorance
Cheers Shesa - it sure tested my patience, as you know, but I'm so pleased now that I persisted, as it completes an important part of my collection.
I think I'll have "goose" for Christmas! (joke for Shesa)

Have a great weekend people - as I'm about to! See ya on the other side!
