    @Madelaine
    It looks like Emily is an old girl. She looks like she has an interesting face markings?

    _______________

    I had a 22 year old, tortoise shell calico named Spookie Anna Marie.
    I miss her so much. (Picture was after the catnip was harvested )
    She was my gardening cat. Had to be everywhere I was in the garden and made sure I was pulling weeds.

    Torties are so lovely but they do tend to be... erm... characterful! Emily is of unknown age - her owner was found dead, possibly murdered, and she was shut in with him. None of the neighbours knew anything about her. She was totally traumatized but a brilliant fosterer showed huge patience with her and she was only a bit crazy when she came to us. She was supposed to be an indoor cat but she very quickly showed that she knows how to use a cat flap. She is still mostly an indoor cat but she likes to eat grass and is found outside now and then. The only thing that remains the same about her is that she keeps changing!

    Here is a better picture of her face.

    Emily is a sweetie! (I see she's a "star" LOL )

    Yes, Calico's have a big personality in so many ways. They are my favorite, but I don't have a calico at this time.

    Back as a kid, I had to go to a little old ladies home to capture a male calico. Took a few days and brought him down to the barn where I boarded my horses. This was a rag calico (lots of white), six toes and a male (male calico's are rare and worth a LOT of money, this is why the lady ask me to get him since I wouldn't sell him) It's funny because you knew which kittens were his. Some of the litter would have six toes. LOL

    I had someone dropped off a matching set of tortoise shell calico's ( a Him and a Her )
    These were fantastic cats. They went horseback riding with me. Pumpkin (she) would ride pleasure, but Puss (him) would ride pleasure but also would barrel race.
    At this time, we had 2 different people, one that was going into barns cutting off horse's tails. (Show horses to mar their looks). The other person/people would steal horse equipment. This is the one that came into my boarding place I was at. (probably a disappointment since there were only two people boarding). But Pumpkin knew who could be at the barn and attack this person for trespassing. This person was seeking compensation for the attack and that's when the police found out who was stealing horse equipment.

    Yes, Torties are usually female and gingers male...
    Meet Leah - who ate from a tin off her paw! She is the only cat I've ever come across who did that except for a famous Arthur who was in petfood ads in UK.

    My son found this a while ago and it always makes me chuckle.
