Thread: Is there a Vacation Mode for eBid?

  1. #1

Question Is there a Vacation Mode for eBid?

Is there a Vacation Mode for eBid? If so could someone direct me where it is? If not, do I simply put my stores offline and close the auctions until I return? I will be away for 2 weeks.

    Thanks,
    Moonwillow

Go to My Ebidt ---top of page...click. Then go to bottom-ish left of page......Notices....click. Then, make up a message, saying you will be available in a couple weeks (or whatever you want to say)........change status......then check one of your auctions. The notice should be at the top of the page, and your auctions will be visible, but people will be unable to buy or bid. If you still see a buy or bid button, go back to the notice you made and click a different status.....I don't remember for sure, but it's really very easy. Check out a couple people's auctions to see if you see a sample notice (tho their auctions may still be running). Good luck!

Like HM said, go to My Notices, write up a notice with the effective dates of your holiday, add the notice to all auctions and make sure the active box and the holiday box are ticked, that should put your items on holiday, (i.e., members can't bid on or buy items til the holiday setting is turned off). Oh and do turn the notice off when you return.

I think that's right, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I frequently am before the 12th cup of java.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Thank you both so very much. This was most helpful. I have one auction with a bid on it and will wait til it is over then will set the notice active. I don't leave until this weekend. *smiles*

HAve fun!! When you get back, or before, you might want to fix your signature link that you have showing both your logo, and the highlighted words link......both take the viewer to a home page of eBid showing stores...............not your individual store.! Good luck!

Have fun! Off for a vacation myself the end of June, not that I deserve it, but I'm going anyhow.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

This is a holiday notice I created earlier this year. To make it live (so that items are viewable but not biddable/buyable) then I just checked the box to the left of the notice and clicked the blue box below ~ Change Active Status. My notice was then visible on every item.

That information was given six years ago when the site was very different. When looking for information always try to find the most recent posts on the subject.

If you can't find a recent post then it's better to ask a direct question (or use the Help facilities) rather than berating outdated information that was good when given.

Cheaver has pointed you towards the current route to achieve the task, but ask again if that and the Help files to not fully get you there.
