Thread: Weird Mouse

  1. #1

    Question Weird Mouse

It's a GE Wireless, a remnant left over from the 98552 combo.

The cursor will start "floating" over to another end of the screen, all by itself. It's not that I can't handle it. But I get that eerie feeling...

I wonder if this has to do with the kind of a mouse pad maybe? Mine is from PC World.

Ooh, a floating mouse, now there's an odd one. Maybe it's the ghost of Elvis trying to cage a free burger and fries...

I use a wired mouse, so can't help much, sorry. Maybe try changing the battery, as Nancy mentioned, and see if it helps.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

It is wireless. Thanks for the tip, I'll go ahead & change the batteries.

It IS a creepy feeling... like it's possessed or something.

    Thanks again.

I had that problem before. Changing batteries can help but it's more likely because of the surface you put the mouse on. The laser can't work on all surfaces, some work better on dark surfaces some work better on white. There are mice that can work fine on any surface or even no surface at all!! (these called Air Mice and are expensive)

If it is a wireless mouse, then the 3 main things at fault are...

1: The battery's are low, replace them with some good quality batteries
2: If you have any other wireless items near the mouse, this can interfere with the signal
3: The mouse sensitivity needs to be checked, as the sensitivity can be high so a slight nudge can make it move.

There is also a few other things, which can be the surface you have the mouse on, just make sure that the surface is a nice flat clean surface.

    Hope this helps

My old one did that, and it was NOT a wireless. I finally got it to stop when I switched from a mouse pad to a sheet of white paper, so apparently the background can be the cause. I got a new mouse with my new computer (optical with cord) and so far it stays where I put it.

Wired mice can move on their own if they are stretched a little too far than intended, therefore, like a spring, the wire will so gently pull the mouse back to where it is meant to, hence the movement on the screen

However, this wasn't your problem, i just thought i'd put that out there
