Thumbs up New here & opened a store

    Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself -
I have just opened a store selling skincare & later will be adding perfumes.
Does anyone sell much here? I have traded well on greedbay but fed up with all the bickering & rule changing.

Be nice to have some contact with friendly 'faces' in the same trade (or not)

    Irene

Welcome aboard. I started selling here in June 2008, and about half my feedback is from sales (the other purchases, so somebody always got some cash!) As you can easily see, this doesn't represent a hugely quick turnover. However, it is a good place to keep things ticking over, and certain lines do better than others I believe. Books are slow here, so I wouldn't assume that my results would be typical. Craft items do better, I think. There's also quite a strong "alternative culture" faction here.

I've no idea how the toiletries/cosmetics field performs, but if you give it your best shot you'll probably have fun finding out. I have a few selling tips at www.bykimbo.com in the eBid section, and there are lots of helpful threads sitting around the forums that are worthwhile reading for newbies. There are also several other ebidders' web sites offering help and advice - keep your eyes peeled.

Welcome to eBid. Agree with Kimbo, some items do better than others; I've had better luck selling vintage jools than books but have sold both, unfortunately the clothing just seems to be hanging around.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

    Hello and welcome,

I'm in the cosmetics trade and have not long moved over here from greedy guts! Not made any sales as of yet but still hopeful!

    Good Luck and best wishes
