Thread: Thought I would try a loss leader to gain some feedback.........But

Default Thought I would try a loss leader to gain some feedback.........But

    Hi all

I have been registered her for over 6 yrs but never listed or bought anything.

I have recently listed some lawnmower blades which are selling very well on feebay.

I am now somewhat dissapointed. After no sales for the first week (I expected this with no feedback) I decided to try a loss leader. Out of my 6 items I have on here which are the most popular I have been selling elsewhere, I revised 2 of them to a buy it now price of one penny, still with free P&P! Hoping they would be snatched up with the outcome giving me some feedback for the items I am selling.

I have in the listings explained the reason for the silly price.

I see items on here with plenty of bids, I cannot understand why, what is such a day to day item, which many people will require, I cannot practically give away?

    Hi Michelle,

I would suggest you read some of the post in the forums about how to sell on eBid.

You have your items on run til sold which keep them at the bottom of listings.

I think the best way to get feedback is to buy a few things from this site and get to know the regular sellers. I personally would be suspicious of an item being sold for 1p no matter what you say is the reason

    Good luck

take a peek at the YDC77 aucctions that start running tomorrow evening at 6pm, there is a great deal of fun and frolicks surrounding the auctions on there.
Meanwhile as Foxie says have a peek through the other threads on tips for selling and getting seen on here.
You do have to work a bit harder to get sales here, but its all worth it when they start coming in.

    YOU see a "loss leader"
    as a BUYER, I see:

    4 years on ebid
    a blank about me page
No photo on about me page
    No feedback=No activity

to a buyer that looks like a dump & run (absent) seller.

The quickest way to have 100% feedback is to BUY something!

Well, that's a heck of a cute dog, but the answer's got to be "a shop banner".

Nah, it's definately some lovely face cream or super smelly perfume.

You see it's not what we need in life that is important ~ it's all about what e WANT

That's the way I kick-started my feedback and got rid of the black specs - bought from the site. Started off with some Gillette razors for hubby and a couple of wee things for both of us. Nothing wildly extravagant but useful nonetheless.

    Hello!
I 'bought' some bubble wrap to wrap the blades in. Could not find the link to pay via paypal for the life of me so sent a message to the seller.
She confirmed that the email had come through to her old email address but that she has not been selling on here in over a year!

She now has issues on how to close her account properly, I on the other hand need to somehow cancel the transaction with her. So i don't get a black mark.

Is there somebody reputable who sells bubblewrap?

    Michelle.
