Drop in on this idea Gazza! What a good way to promote ebid!

My idea in a nutshell is to print off 'business cards (Gazza and co to design template so that we are consistant) to which we add our own buddy point URL to point people to ebid.

You can print off as many as you like.
I would start with a hundred or so and leave them at my local post office.
Then scatter them around take-aways etc.

Thing is
'We could' each be rewarded individually for our efforts via the buddy point system
(can you confirm that Gazza?)

I don't understand eBid's involvement. If you want to do a flier dump (or cards or whatever) what's stopping you? Why do they need to be consistent - we're not all selling the same things, and we don't all only sell here. Sorry, I'm lost!

So if someone logs in using your URL you could in theory earn buddy points!

Well Pink_Panther we can do these ourselves by going to Vistaprint as for the url I'd suggest copying the URL and shortening it via tiny.cc and using the short url on the free business cards. This is how mine would look on 250 business cards via vistaprint http://tiny.cc/z37dq

This is already true, that's what the buddy link is for. You can print that on anything you like. What you seem to be doing is asking ebid to design some bit of paper for you, that we would all (for some reason) wish to use? I'd rather do my own, thanks, then I can include anything I like on there. I don't understand why you wouldn't too? If you want a card with just ebid on, leaving off your own name for some reason, but including your buddy link... fill yer boots. Not sure I've got a buck, by the way, but if I find it I'll hold it up for you. ;o)

I promote my ebid store on around 800 packages that are sent out each month - first and foremost, I would like them to visit my store.
After that, if they choose to wander around ebid, then that is their choice.

Thing is,if someone uses your buddy point link it takes them to the registration page.If they've never heard of eBid they're not going to join without looking around first.You'd be better off using your store url with a buddy link in all of your auctions.(will pm shortly)
You can print off a business card from the generator in my sig.

i have been making business cards with my home page on the front with some info and on back has my url to sign up. i enclude them in all the packages i send out to promote the sites i sell on no matter where i sold the item
