    BUMP

    This is what appears on the Vendre ("Sell") page here;

    http://fr.ebid.net/auction_start_page.php

    Slectionner une Catgorie

How is anyone supposed to read this? It is an insult to the French language - how difficult is it to find a character map and add the proper accents to your pages?

Oh - I see that France isn't being singled out for special attention - the pages of eBid Germany, Spain and Portugal are suffering from the same affliction- question marks in place of accents.

The Italian and Dutch pages still have buttons and instructions in English - Buy on eBid, Sell on eBid etc

EBid Portugal has overlapping areas on the front page http://pt.ebid.net/

"Créer une Nouvelle Enchère : Choisir une Catégorie Supérieure

Assurez-vous d'avoir monté votre compte en grade vers le statut Vendeur ou Vendeur+ avant de commencer à publier."

That looks soooooooo much better - Thank you!

Edit - Just remembered - I'm not supposed to chat in here - so if this "Thank you" post counts as chat -sorry!! Je suis un lapin heureux !

Some of the recent changes within the Sewing and embroidery sections have not been carried through to France! In the UK you have "Sewing and Machine Embroidery" - in France you have "Couture et broderie" which is sewing and embroidery and you have moved embroidery elsewhere. It probably should be: " Couture et Broderie par machine à coudre".

Then there is a category which is Needlework in the UK. In France you have "Neddlework" (sic) which should be "Travaux d'aiguille".
    "Other" should be "Autre".

On the feedback page something is very very badly translated to Dutch:
resultaat (It's better to say 'beoordeling' and not 'resultaat')
LOF Waar ze waren VERKOPER (Waar ze waren=totally wrong!!)
    It's better to say:
positieve beoordeling voor de VERKOPER (It sounds a lot better.)

It would be better to set seller or buyer before the name of the seller or buyer like ebay does on the feedback page. it's much better.

On the bottom of the page you can see the continents where you can buy stuff.
There is on the french page:
AMÉRIQUE DU SUD . ASIE . EUROPE . OCEANIA . AMÉRIQUE DU NORD . SOUTH AMERICA .
    It should be:
AFRIQUE . ASIE . EUROPE . OCÉANIE . AMÉRIQUE DU NORD. AMÉRIQUE DU SUD .

There is on the dutch page:
    ZUID-AMERIKA . AZIE . EUROPA . OCEANIA . NOORD-AMERIKA . SOUTH AMERICA .
    It should be:
    AFRIKA . AZIË . EUROPA . OCEANIË . NOORD-AMERIKA . ZUID-AMERIKA .

who has translated the site to dutch? it's well done outside some little mistakes.

    Hi,
I don't quite know where to post this but....when I click on my store
    http://art-objects.ebid.net/
I am sent to the French site where prices are in euros
I don't mind the publicity on the French eBid site, but would prefer it if clicking on the link would sdend a potential customer to my US site. Otherwise, thank you for all the work you do on our behalf.

The problem with accented letters (à, ò, ù, ì, è, é) still remains, it's a little annoying, maybe a char conversion table issue.

I have just found this ' Demnächst beendete Auktionen' on the German buying site. No idea what it is meant to be, but I think it is supposed to be the German for 'closing auctions'. 'Bald endende Auktionen' would be a good translation
