    Default Lost in Translation

PLEASE DO NOT CHAT IN THIS THREAD

If you come across any strange translations on our non-english sites we would appreciate you dropping a note here, let us know the word/phrase that isn't quite up to scratch and what a better translation would be, also let us know if it is a category, if you saw it on an email or what you were doing, what page were you viewing when you saw it and we will get it fixed.

    Thanks,
    Gazza

France eBid - stores page is showing 14 stores - which is an increase! Hooray. However, the numbers in brackets beside category headings only add up to 11. Where are the other stores?

Now showing 17 stores - hooray - but only 14 listed under category headings. Please fix this as no-one can buy from hidden stores.

Also see http://meetup.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=128464 Why are French people signing up getting an error message about their bank cards - and furthermore, a message in English? How many are going away without going any further?

Back to 16 stores at top of page and only 13 under category listings. Sadly, someone didn't stick around for long!

Post English to Dutch to English

I am not a fluent dutch speaker by any means, but I do live in the Netherlands and I do speak dutch, although I am a native english speaker, and I have noticed one or two things, I will make a list if you would like, but the one I have noticed is that in English it's called Consumer Electronics, you have in the dutch translation klanten electronica. It should be CONSUMENTEN ELECTRONICA.

Like I said Im not fluent in dutch, but just let me know if you'd like me to look further.

    Take care

Back to 17 stores (someone new?) at the top of the page - but only 14 under category headings. Surely this glitch could have been fixed by now? I first reported this in August 2009. If there are 17 stores in France I would like to be able to see them all!

    1) A typo here - not important in the grand scheme of things but if you have a spare minute

    http://fr.ebid.net/perl/account.cgi?...unt-buddy-stat

Either side of the date it says "mois prochain" which means "next month" - you would need "mois dernier" to the left meaning "last month".

But... you could also use "mois précédent" and "mois suivant" (previous month and following month) as you do here in the fee account pages - which is rather better grammar and consistent:

    http://fr.ebid.net/perl/account.cgi?mo=account-balance

    2) After the revamp - stores showing 17 but only 13 in the categories!!

Agreed - this looks ridiculous - have a look at the front page here for many examples but the problem continues throughout the French pages -
