But yes, back on topic, I would love to have a watchers column, I know not all of them go on to buy but it does indicate interest.
we have all seen it before....views do not mean buyers....watchers , do not mean buyers....a view...is an indication of interest.... just as you assume a watcher is....a watcher might have the same item and is only watching to see if it sells.......or not......Papa.

I agree - that would be more helpful to me than knowing how many watchers!
Why not take a quick look at my Stores?

The view counters are still not working properly; it would be nice if we had some feedback on this from Gazza - it is such an integral part of the site and not only are they valuable indications for the sellers, they can speak volumes to the buyers as to what the traffic is like to Ebid - at the moment it gives totally the wrong impression and I am really getting annoyed about it now.

I use this info a lot. A relationship exists between number of visits and number of watchers, the closer the raltionship, the more likely your item is to do well. No of wathcers dropping off is an indiaction that the final prie is getting near. In any auction there will be a percentge of people doing research, (I've got one to sell or I wonder) some for whom the buy point has passed, and some who will bid. I find the info very useful in knowing what is going to happen and acxting acordingly. It's a tool that ebid should seriously consider for the convenience of their customers.
I suspect the reason it is not there is ecause the reality would be quite embarassing for them.

On the other side I've not found the number of watchers feature of any use. I've had items with around 20 watchers that end with only one bid, while on other items there have been no watchers and yet they end with lots of bids.
However, having the view counter sorted out would be a good thing.

My experience over there, is that about 50% of items watched have turned into a sale.

I too have had watchers on the dark side and sometimes get a bid and others no bid. So IMHO watchers do me no good. I'd rather have some of the other things that are supposed to be updated on this site finished before tackling watchers.

I'd much rather have the view counters attended to, before we had a 'watch counter!

(When, oh when, oh when will they ever come right?!!!!)
