    I'd just like to remind peeps that the official eBid logo is probably the better choice to use if you just want a small size screen or print version of the main website logo. I created my own version primarily because I wanted it to be completely scalable and also because I didn't like the blocky shadow on the original (I don't know if that's intentionally like that or due to compression). I also wanted the other versions to use and play with, the flat colours make them a bit easier to print out with good results, and the single-colour one will keep printing costs down when sending a design to be printed on merchandise (the more colours, the more expensive it can be). For those who want it, I'm attaching the eBid World logo (not my version) as a 600x600 pixel jpg, 72dpi (screen resolution, but still OK for printing in Word etc).

    One of the reasons I included the SVG files on my page (and in various posts in the forums here) is if someone wishes to improve them. I'll be the first to admit that my version of the 3D effect one is not perfect.

    I'll probably redo the ones I've put up with the official version as original at some point, and give some more sizes, but I like yours, it was to hand, and I was in a hurry.

    Redone with official version. Available in four sizes. But just the one flavour.

    Good stuff! Now let's hope people can be bothered to get off their arse and make use of them in their own works.

    Please can you help me to get a clickable link for peeps to join to buy on ebid or to get to the home page to register.....something with a logo preferably. I did have a "join ebid here" when I first joined but I cant remember where it is or how to use it now....duh!
    I am in no way computer literate...........maybe you guessed that already!

    Anna, if you go to My eBid > My Buddy Points you will find a ready made link that you can copy and paste in anywhere you like, that will operate as a "join eBid here" link. If you want to use a picture/banner or change the display text for where you use it, you will need to ask a specific question because the technique might vary by location, depending on whether you are putting into a listing using the wysiwyg editor, or adding it to your own site using html or whatever.

    I sincerely hope that that is not meant as a dig about people who may not be as 'computer-savvy' as you are, and are finding some of these things EXTREMELY difficult.

    Quite a lot of us are OAPs and have never had an IT lesson in our lives - we have to learn as we go along if we are not to be seriously disadvantaged.
    Why not take a quick look at my Stores?

    Find all kinds of books HERE

    Find 'Plus Size' Clothes HERE

    Find NEW tiny Baby Stuff HERE

    Find 'Bits & Bobs' HERE

    Some of us are not OAPs and *have* had IT experience and are still learning as we go along Jude As regards being seriously disadvantaged, Ive got that one down to a t!

    I think theres always going to be a learning curve somewhere, however experienced one might think they are (ooh listen to the queens english!), and Im sure the quote was not directed at those who *dont* know, just those who know and cant be bothered?

    Not at all Providing a full page of business cards ready to print is as much as anyone can do, it's up to the end-user to put card or paper in their printer and click 'print', and then actually hand them out to people.

    Using logos - well maybe that is something more for the advanced users, hopefully they will post their creations here for others to print out and use. I think there are plenty of people of all generations who are perfectly capable of using these logos and creating their own works with them, people who make cards for example should be more than capable. All it takes is a bit of imagination!

    To make a clickable logo or image link to your Buddy sign-up page thingamejig, get your Buddy Link as Bykimbo says, copy it (Ctrl+c on Windows, Command+c on Mac) then I find the easiest way is to switch to html editor mode and insert it into a line of html thus:

    HTML Code:
    <a href='http://uk.nine.ebid.net/perl/normal.cgi?ref=heatemyfather&mo=register-main'>
    <img src="http://www.jonathanmortimer.co.uk/adverts/images/ebid_logo_vector_flat_small.png">
    </a>
    In this example, the ref=heatemyfather is a reference to my username, you could simply substitute heatemyfather for your own eBid username (AnnaBee presumably), the image tag references one of the eBid logos on my own website (in reality if anyone actually tries linking to an image on my website they will just get redirected to a picture of a sheep, this is to prevent people from linking to my stuff and using up my server bandwidth, but that has nothing to do with this really), substitute the url address for your own (the location of a picture on the internet, preferably that you own).

    This would be if you wanted to include a buddy link in your own web page, if you just want one in the eBid forums then there are much easier (and better) ways of doing it, and should be the same or similar for most other forums too. Forums use something called BBCode, it uses it's own set of tags so normal html doesn't always work as expected. Use the Advanced formatting controls to insert an image and wrap that image around a link tag; on here these are the little picture of mountains and the world with a chain link.. highlight your image tag (once inserted) and then click the link button and insert your buddy link in the box.

    Sorry if that all sounds a bit complicated, it's really not that complicated at all, honest!
