Chester is lovely Sarge, I very often use to pop there in the afternoon on my 1/2 day at the shop, it's more or less regarded as being in Wales. have a lovely time, pity you are not coming today as it's lovely out.

never been to the zoo, but it's very popular with young families around here for a day out. Chester itself is lovely and well worth a visit.

Chester indeed is a lovely place. So much to see and do.

My earliest memory (aged about 5) of Chester is when I saw a gentleman from India for the first time (and he was in full Indian garb). My Dad gave him some money and the man helped me up and seated me in a large basket on top of his elephant and took me for a ride. (the elephant was beautifully decorated too.)

In all my subsequent trips to Chester I've never seen anything like this again ~ but have always had a wonderful time there.

I'm so grateful to the Indian and his elephant for the lovely memory......

I'm sure you'll have a brilliant visit, Sarge.

I haven't posted any packages but quite randomly a package containing 2 audio books arrived this morning sent from someone here.

I have no idea how that happened..I think my rifle sights need adjusting...lol

Please forgive my ignorance ... I've never quite understood. Chester is a city? County of Chester is also called Cheshire? Is that right? My grandpa and my Shaw / Rathbone line lived at and near to a place called Davenham in Cheshire. I have some lovely photographs of the old church there, St. Wilfrid's. From what I see on the internet, they still have services there. Many of the Shaws did their baptisms, marrying, and burying there. Has anyone been to this town? I'll probably never make the trip to actually see it. The older I get and the more I struggle with anxiety when I'm around crowds / noise etc., the less likely I am to travel to England to see where my paternal grandparents lived.
