Thread: Over half a million auctions at last!!!!

Join the club, my Dutch buyer still hasn't paid for their eleven items and has now been struck off for not paying other sellers too. She has been in regular contact but from the wonky Google traslations she seems to be refusing to pay by Paypal and asked if she could do an IBAN payment. I declined that as the last time I got something like a £20 bank charge ! I've said she could send me the money by PPPay and sent her the link, instead of Paypal, but I have heard no more. Really strange as I found her Facebook page and she does sell pottery herself. Why bid on a load of auctions here when it clearly states that payment is by Paypal ? A total waste of time as I had to pack all the items to get her the best postage rate.

Thank you for my 'special' coffee Private Tropical. I need lots of that what with non paying buyers, bloomin' photobucket naff images, and rain !

On a brighter note I asked our local green grocer to get me some more all weather Bizzie Lizzies (the type with large dark green leaves) and went down this morning to collect them. He couldn't get them but he did get me a big tray of pink, red, white and purple periwinkles though which are stunning. I've never had them in the garden before, they should make a lovely splash of colour.

So...I had and echo scan in hospital in March last year which showed left ventricular systolic dysfunction with low output....then this afternoon more than 15 months later my first pack of heart meds (ace inhibitors ) turned up.

Moonie, I don't understand how the UK medical system works. You are saying that it took 15 months for medications to be issues after you had the echo cardiogram?

That isn't indicative of the UK medical system. I was diagnosed with the same complaint after an echocardiogram and prescription was issue without any problems then, or since. Our medical system has its failings, of course it does, but our health service is the second to none.

love_to_stitch, I have heard that the UK has a good health care system. In fact, it was on the news just the other day that it was rated at the top of the list.

My experience is that you might have to wait for the test or operation but never for medication. It seems very odd.
Did you never think to ask why you had not received the medication?

I think moonies GP needs a kick up the orinoco, she can't get thyroid meds and according to my gp without meds a heart attack or stroke is on the cards and mine were dispensed by the chemist next door and i came home with them in my hand and waits 15 months for heart meds, Moony it's not on and you need another GP and apart from that he needs reporting, I am beginning to think the health service in Wales is superb towards the English one, no idea what Annie thinks.

I agree, Tony. The GP would have been my first port of call if medication had not been received. Without knowing the reason, it is not ours to judge.

    · " Can my GP refuse to give me a prescription that my consultant asked them to provide?

The person who signs the prescription is legally liable for the prescribing and the consequent effects of that drug. Some drugs which may be very familiar to consultants in a specialised area of medicine can be potent drugs of which a GP will have little experience (for example many cancer drugs or specialised treatment for diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis – the group called ‘biologicals’).

If a consultant feels a drug is appropriate there is no reason why they cannot prescribe it themselves; they can also post a prescription to you.

There may be circumstances where in spite of a specialist opinion a GP is still unhappy to prescribe a drug, there may be some disagreement on the necessity of the drug or your GP may feel that there are other aspects of your medical condition that have not been considered and would make that prescription inappropriate."
