    You could try this Meebo

Diatomaceous Earth (often referred to as "DE") is an off white talc-like powder that is the fossilized remains of marine phytoplankton. When sprinkled on a bug that has an exoskeleton (such as bed bugs, ants or fleas) it compromises their waxy coating so that their innards turn into teeny tiny bug jerky. But it doesn't hurt mammals. We can eat it. We do eat it! It's in lots of grain based foods because lots of grains are stored with diatomaceous earth to keep the bugs from eating the grain!

Good morning! Spent the early hours sorting out YDC payments, which i hope are all done and correct. Then there was breakfast to make, but as there were only 2 here this weekend that didn't take too long. Barney has been for a walk in the garden, I have fed the birds ad cleaned the kitchen floor. Now all I need to do is get showered and dressed. And the rest of the day? Cooking I think. Might get to sort through some more patterns to check they are complete and then list. I think that'll do for today.

Meebo sounds as though youu have had a busy day allready.

We are going to have an active time we are helping with WI jumble sale, somer says I'll come might find something to buy so at present have a boot full hope we don't come back with as much as we take.

    Very dull here today.

Relists done & Sgt will be pleased as a part from YDC no sales.

Private Mcc2 I'm glad you are peeling the potatoes as I overslept this morning (must have been worn out from the YDC !) and I have to go out with a friend soon.

I will see you all later, make sure you guard my shops while I'm gone !

Used to be plagued with ants (including a nest behind the back boiler that released swarms of flying ants into the house each year) as the house is built on the site of an old orchard. Used to get trails of ants like you see in cartoons. Tried lots of things with varying degrees of success to get rid of them.

One that was very effective I won't pass on as you likely will not have access to the chemical and it is a tad dangerous.

Next best was Nippon gel. You do have to allow the ants to feed on it and take it back to the nest - which can be a bit hard if the ants are in the house. This is the stuff that sorted the nest behind the boiler.

I don't think nests get reused, so once the nest is killed you shouldn't have a problem from the same place.

Thank you, Mel. We think that they are behind the water butt, so will get some Nippon and put it down near there. Can't use the stuff inside or the rabbit will lick it, which will probably not be very good for him

I think you can also get it within ant traps (I used the tubes) which only have small entrances. Though still better placed outside the cage regardless, as it will likely lessen the ants entering the cage with a ready food source outside.
