Welcome to eBid August 2018 Newsletter

    News from Gazza

It's been a scorching month here at eBid, the temperature has been hitting extremes and eBid as a whole has been busy, busy, busy. Sales are up over 25% compared to the same period last year.

After quite a few requests we've added details of offers made/received to the After Sale Log (ASL) area. Until now when a sale was made via "Make an Offer" (MaO) the details of the offer were only available if you made a separate click to open up the Offer Console overlay. Now the winning offer details are available for viewing in the ASL.

Our new importing system has been sped up and a few small bugs fixed with the photos that were being imported. We've also taken on board many of the comments we've received on how it can be improved. Upcoming additions will include options to filter incoming listings by status and also keywords.

One other matter also related to photos, Google Shopping do not allow any photos that contain text, overlays or logos on. They deem these to be promotional material and therefore any eBid listings that we send to Google breaking these guidelines will not be shown on their network of sites. We do still see some sellers uploading photos to eBid with text on, we would suggest all users upload clear and good quality photos and also use a plain white background where possbile.

Our image upload system hit a snag a few days ago which has been remedied, many thanks to our army of users out there who keep us on our toes all the time and won't let us allow our standards to slip

Due to the sheer number of countries eBid sellers are located in there are often times when an item is not available for sale in your country, we've added some clearer messages to shoppers when this is the case. Instead of showing an error message you will now see a message saying the item isn't available in your country together with a link to the listing details page of the seller's home country to allow for possible communications.

Congratulations to all the winners of the US Soccer official auctions that we highlighted in last month's newsletter. The auctions made around $30,000 that will be donated to the You Can Play Project. A very worth cause indeed.

TOP TIPS - Setting the Correct Item Condition

Is your item shiny and brand new or perhaps a bit on the older side and just hasn't been used before? eBid has a few different options when it comes to stating the condition of your item. NEW, UNUSED, REFURBISHED, USED and NOT WORKING/PARTS. We've received a few emails of late from users who have purchased something that was incorrectly labelled by the seller so make sure you populate this field correctly to avoid confusion further down the line.

TOP TIPS - Saving Listing Details for Later

"My Defaults" is a section within your "My eBid" area where users can store listing and other information related to your whole eBid account. The "Selling Defaults" section is there to save you time when starting new listings, this is where you can save your listing form data and recall it later on. Alternatively create some "Shipping Defaults" if you wish to have many items linked by the same shipping polices. Once your defaults have been set, you simply need to recall them on the listing form and populate the form with the data

If you have a look at "General Defaults" section you can see you have the option to add a note to any invoices you send out saving time repeating yourself, also, you can choose whether to reset views on auto-reposts, choose whether you would like us to upload your BuyNow items to Google Shopping, elect to hide reserves from unsuccessful closed auctions, and enable multi-item checkout.

So, if you are not already using "My Defaults", have a look at what is on offer. It"s a great way to streamline and refine your new listings and save some time.
