Seller's Description

United Kingdom - Shield of the Royal Arms

7 Coin Set (UNC)

UNION JACK

2014 Royal Arms Set

All coins are Uncirculated

1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, 1 Pound - all are mixed dates

The new designs were selected in an open competition that attracted 4,000 entries.

The winning designer was Matthew Dent, from Bangor, now living and working in London as a graphic designer.

Matthew developed the heraldic theme, taking the greatest heraldic device ever used on coinage - the Royal Arms.

The Shield of the Royal Arms has been carefully split among all six denominations from the 1p coin to the 50p coin.

The £1 coin displays the heraldic element in its entirety.

This is the first time that a single design has been used across a range of United Kingdom coins.

Could you supply the dates please?

Hi Thank you for your enquiry. The sets are, as the description states, of mixed dates. So normally not one set will have the same dated coins as another. However, If you want a set all with the same dates, I can offer you a set where all coin are dated 2014. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Peter West

Hi again Unfortunately, you are collecting a set of coins of which none of them were minted for general circulation. All six of them were only minted in a small quantity for BU Collector's Sets. As is normal in this instance, some people who obtain a set split them and sell the coins individually. But being rare the cost is quite high. If you search on eBay you will find the 1p, 2p and 20p at about £25 each and the 50P at about £65 each. Naturally, if you have the other 5p, 10p and 50p, you have three coins that are worth quite a lot. Regards Peter West
