Some Information About mpdaughter

Giving you a little more insight into the seller.

Many, many years active in the craft and collectible areas, I started out at craft shows and collectible malls in the Chicago suburbs and continue to be active where I live today, the greater DC area.

I moved to the Internet a while back, first at the Midwest Arts and Crafts site (no longer active) and then to the other major auction site.  If you have concerns about me, you can go to the other auction site and check out my feedback there.  I take pride in providing accurate descriptions, fair prices and great customer service.

WHY ‘MY PARENT’S DAUGHTER’?

My father was a jack of all trades as were many from his era.  He enjoyed finding and repairing all sorts of things and then selling them at flea markets.  He did this for over 60 years before his passing in the early 1990s.  When he found things he liked, he added them to his own collections that included many items he grew up with.  He and I would spend hours together with his ‘treasures’ as I was growing up.  Later, he involved my son who really got the ‘spirit’ and started collecting on his own.

All of the things in the Collectible store come from our many years of combined activity.

My mother was the crafter.  She enjoyed knitting, crochet, quilting and sewing.  My grandmother also sewed a great deal.  Both ladies were products of their generations and that translated to extensive stashes of fabrics and notions and finding ways to use up every scrap!!  I was lucky enough to learn from my mom.  She encouraged me to branch further into other crafting disciplines and create new designs for each one.  My dad taught me woodworking skills.  I still enjoy learning new crafting skills so I can combine some of my dad’s collection into new craft ideas.

The crafts store showcases some of my many current interests.  All items are handmade by me and many are one of a kind that may never be made again just the same way.  You need to come back often to see the new versions of snowmen, penguins, etc. that will pop up during the year.  Each year, I add new crafts for my seasonal shows as well as here in eBid.  Keep coming back to see them all.

Why My Parent’s Daughter?  That’s easy – I learned the best from each of my parents and enjoy blending them all together.

Come visit my stores often.  I will be adding new things as I finish research on them.
