Default You can manually rid yourself of flashing red r's

(Admittedly, you really have to be motivated to do this)
I lowered the opening bid on one of my auctions and instead of changing it, I just deleted the auction reserve price. I hit "SAVE CHANGES", went back to "my auctions I'm running" and there was no flashing red r on that auction. I tried again, and it worked on every one of my auctions. Afterwards, I changed one auction's starting time and got the site's reminder to put in the reserve price, so I did . . . and then came right back and deleted the reserve price again.
I feel I have done my little part to help clean up the environment to attract the positive attention of those buyers who think the flashing red r's mean 'reserve price', but my only concern is that by playing with toys I really know nothing about, I may have inadvertantly damaged my auctions in so doing. But, if not, then . . .

    I haven't seen a flashing red R in months... I ad-blocked them.

    Sorry. Added clarification is italicized.

Thank you. And I'm indebted to the comedian who sent me a PM of flashing red Rs in case I was missing them.

I can ad block them, but that won't get rid of them for all my customers. I might try the OP's idea when I have to do a complete relist for postage changes.

To the uninitiated they certainly do look like "ridiculous reserve - do not bid" warning

I don't believe they need to go away, they just need to look like what they represent

I don't play the reserve game

It's the flashing I object to. It is bad for many people with migraine or epilepsy as well as looking tacky, but as I have said, management either love the stupid things or are too busy with more important stuff (more important than making the site look less tacky? ) and are obviously not going to do anything any time soon.

It would be a simple job - just replace the gif code with something that doesn't flash - so it is not a question of coding resources.
