    Thumbs up Catagories

Please consider a Books catagory between Children and Adults - Teenagers!!!

Children gives the impression of bed-time stories, yet there is a wealth of material out there written specifically for teens - this was new to me till my granddaughter of 14 came to stay!!

    Difficult one this!

I was reading adult books at 11, and I know a lot of my friends' children who were too - saying that, there are teenagers who struggle with things like Judy Blume.

As a book-seller, I call them 'childrens' books if they are issued by 'childrens' publishers, for example 'Puffin' and a quick look at the store category would let you go straight to look.

(I also would not like to spend extra time trying to decide what age a book was 'aimed' at, and then possibly putting it in the wrong category!)
Why not take a quick look at my Stores?

(BTW - I think 14 is still a child, really!)

There is actually a category recognized in the book trade as "juveniles" that is marketed to the pre-teen to young teen market. The Tiffany Aching Adventures by Terry Pratchett are an example of this category.

I can add a "Teenage" category to fiction, but wouldnt these books be better off within their correct classification, eg. Mystery etc?
