Thread: Widen Search Box, Sustain Search terms

  1. #1

Default Widen Search Box, Sustain Search terms

    Hello,

the search box, a very important function, would be easier to use if,

    A. It was much wider to allow for more terms or longer words.

    B. After a search the terms entered remained so that they could be edited for the next search which is often the next step. Currently they are deleted and a complete new search phrase needs to be re-entered.

    Yes, I agree.

I'm new here & trying to find my way around.....Is there a way to search Unsold &/or Sold listings? As a seller, I like to research items I am selling to see what the going price is, so I can price my items accordingly....

    Hello,

not that I know of, this would be useful in an advanced search option.

Carry out a normal search for the item of interest. To the right of the results is an area 'Refine Your Search' - tick the 'Search Closed' box and re-run the search.

I've never had a problem with A, but if it's a nuisance for some then it should certainly be changed. I agree with B whole-heartedly.

The width of the box does not restrict the amount of text you can place into it.

    B. After a search the terms entered remained so that they could be edited for the next search
I agree with that. You can go some way to getting round it as it currently is if you set your browser to auto-complete. Then if you double-click the box or start typing a drop-down list of your previous entries will be displayed for you to select from.

Agreed, however I like to be able to review &/or edit a phrase in one go, without scrolling, before activating.
