I know - I was there when that was going on

So far as I could work out, the only noticeable result

was that the server kept going pearshaped

As Northstreet says, Tazbar did TV, too early as it turned out - crashed their servers, lost seller and buyer confidence etc etc. Until one has the choice and stock in place for the millions that see TV ads, a gradual build in advertising is evidently the wiser course as revenue increases.

There's nothing to stop any eBid seller promoting their listings, just as one would do in a mall - start with the grassroots clients, afore ye get all airy n' get the mall to go global )

I just added one of the youtube videos to my yahoo 360 blog

I promote ebid through prize draws on my website - and they pay me through affiliate links

I'm going to have to have a proper look round these forums to see what else I can do for free.

Maybe this won't be the most popular viewpoint but keep reading ...

It's coming up to mid-september, the time when folks start huddling round their pc both to buy and sell. Ebay listings and sales will increase, they always do.
BUT, the new rulings are in place and lots of newbies are listing. I myself won a couple of auctions last week, I've received neither package and, finally, got emails from both sellers basically saying, "Hey, There's been a hold up, will get the package to you when I feel like it."

Obviously neither of these two realise the implications on their ratings of reacting to buyers like this and the further implications on both their sales and trading activity.

I'm pretty much laid back about it and as long as I get my stuff sometime in the pretty near future, it isn't a problem, but many buyers will be jumping on them from a great height and stressing them out.

As we all know even experienced sellers are getting very stressed about the unfairness of the system.

So, ultimately, I think it is coming up to the time to list a few choice items over on the dark side - and in my winning bidders emails pointing out very, very, clearly, that the majority of my stock is over here on eBid.

The best way to advertise is by directly marketing the site to the buyers that already exist and they will tell the folk they know and it all becomes self perpetuating.

I actually intend to do just that - I have a basket of nice things that I know will sell over there, and will use them to point the way here!

I've never stopped listing there, and always include information about here in my packaging. I've also started putting 10% off vouchers in for some buyers. I've changed all my shop inventory there to "normal" listings, and will be closing my shop any day... last action will be to mail those who signed up for my email newsletter with a closing offer of 10% voucher for here.

    Just noticed that comment.

If only it were that simple. I have to spend a significant part of my time looking after six year old twins.

Type fast, photograph fast, pack fast, everything has to be fast! The trouble is I'm slow by nature.

I'll probably be listing a few items for advertising purposes. I've been planning it for most of the year. The problem is that every time I think I'll do it they make it even less attractive.

Moi aussi, I think I might drop the odd auction on greedbay, then I think, why SHOULD I give ANY money to those barstids? A boy has to have principles, or he's just a slut!
