I was a powerseller, MM - the changes since last August have each made my sales worse. I used to list near 100 items in my shop. Now I don't have a shop and I have 3-4 listings running - just my very best sellers. My business is only a hobby but it has been a disaster for many others, including, by the sound of it, your good self.
All this explains why I get so angry with ebid's attitude. In fact, I'm concentrating more effort on RL sales.

woooooah hold on 90% of us still sell on ebay and ebay can take the knocks and ramblings of anyone its a billion dollar corporation , yes i lay into ebay but i lay into ebid more but it does not stop me trying to promote here i just want to sell and the more i sell here the better as i sell lots of low value items ebay is no good for me please think about the effect your comments are doing to me not EBID BUT ME
I think those people who have tried Ebid in the past, as I have, and been told such things as "marketing is on its way", "we have great plans ahead for Ebid" etc. and then see the same old lame excuses have every right to be frustrated.
I one for tell EVERY single buyer from every location I sell (including my own website) about Ebid on my Flyer... thats 5000+ orders in two years folks... yet, when we are making such an effort to promote a site and the owners of the site do little to nothing in return, it does make Ebid sellers feel, well, a little cranky.
As I have mentioned, this is my third time back, and one thing I have noticed is the page views have increased on all of my items. However, the page views across a few days here is equivalent to a day on Ebay - but without some mainstream exposure (and no, being top of search engines which Ebid have been for some time doesn't count), Ebid is always going to be the very little cousin to Ebay.
For those who know of and list on Tazbar, they have been doing some marketing to promote themselves, including TV adverts... they only started last year! So if they can do it, why can't Ebid?
I think my main problem with Ebid is that the die hard Ebidders make a point of saying that it is down to the userbase to promote the site... I disagree, as a seller I don't rely on my customers to tell others... I have to pay for advertising and promote myself... so, why can't a recognised site like EBid do the same?
Well, I'm still here. SO why not visit my EBid Shop? http://uk.ebid.net/stores/Totally-Underwear (600+ Items coming soon!!!!!!!!!)
Hi Crusales
I'm not having a dig, but do you not think that the buyer pays the fees anyway? Think about it, if a seller is not adding extra to their p&p to cover fees, then surely they would add it onto the list price? I.e, they buy something for £1, want a 50p profit, they allow for fees (I'll use £1 in this example), so they will either list @ £2.50 + p&p, OR they'll list @ £1.50, and add the £1 to the p&p. That was what I thought the sellers did.
Have a look!
