Thread: Selling used items? Check and revise your listings!

  1. #1

Thumbs down Selling used items? Check and revise your listings!

The "item condition" setting that was introduced recently is a welcome addition.

However, sellers of used items should check and revise all of their items.

    Why?

Because listings running when the change was implemented have been defaulted to "new" condition.

This may have consequences for sellers.

On the one hand, if you've stated in your listing that an item is used but the system says it's new, you look foolish. A minor issue.

On the other hand, if you haven't mentioned condition in your listings and a buyer is expecting a new item, you could potentially be in for a tough time from your buyer, culminating in negative feedback.

My personal opinion is that there should have been an option for "unspecified", and that this be set as the default when the change was implemented. But I guess it's too late now... so get checking those listings!

And just as I post that, it seems they've changed it!

My listings all said "New" - they now say "See description".

I know I wasn't seeing things, because I'd changed 4 of my listings before I made the post!
