On ITV 1 Tonight,
They are showing The spy who loved me. The Guy who plays Barbara Bach's Russian spy husband in the opening sequence was played by actor Mike Billington, who died last month at quite a young age and leaves a 12 year old son.
What is even more Sad Mike's wife only died a few years back leaving Mike Junior alone without both parents.
A little known fact about Mike Billington is that he screen tested for the part of James Bond more than any actor. He was on standbye if Roger Moore's fee was to high for both The Spy who loved me and Moonraker.
His reward for being the Standby Bond was to appear as Sergei Barsov in what has to be the most action packed opening for any Bond film.
Who knows he could have become a world famous actor if not for the Ficcle finger of Fate !
As i said earlier Mike died last month after a heroic battle with Cancer, but did not mention it to his friends or fans.
I have included some links for you to find out more info...

Paul
