According to the Genesis theory, God created Adam then Eve.

Adam & Eve had two sons, Cain & Abel.

Cain slew Abel & God banished Cain to the land of Nod (East of Eden) where he found a wife (how convenient!).

Adam and Eve went on to have another SON - Seth.

But I never could find a reference to Eve bearing daughters.

In which case, mankind must be descended from Cain?

Either way, the genetic pool was incredibly minute - so tiny in fact that within a few generations there would have been many deformed children being born who would, in all likeliehood, not have survived to maturity.

The Genesis theory simply does not hold water.

Interestingly, God wasn't the only creator either...
Gen 1:26 ...let US create man...
So God wasn't alone then?

Ah, but most christians believe that the Old Testiment should be taken with a grain (or a silo!) of salt. It should be taken as a collection of stories that were meant to help the 'uncivilised' to lead a good life.

Also, don't forget that in translation different versions of the bible phrase things in different ways. Thus, the US you mention could be called I in a different translation.

If anyone knows how to read ancient Aramaic, perhaps they could help us out with a rough translation of the original?!!
