I should qualify that...
Dorothy Craigie (real name Dorothy Glover) was originally a theatre costume designer, but was known mostly for her book illustrations (including some of Graham Greene's books with whom she had an affair - c1938 to 1940 and the 'Rufty Tufty' series). She also wrote some books of her own these included Summersalt's Circus (1947) The Voyage of Luna 1 (1948 - using the pseudonym of David Craigie); The Little Parrot (1954); Nicky and Nigger and the Pirate (1960) and some others. Copies of her books are quite difficult to find and very collectable.
I have a copy of Summersalt's Circus if you are interested.
