I just heard from my Daughter :)

Ann-Marie left home in 2009 to move into a group home for young people with Autism.

I sent her a letter recently and this is what she sent back today.

We haven't seen each other since I relocated to Eastbourne nearly 5 years ago and this is the first I have heard back from her...lol

This is what she wrote

Hi mum

Thank you for sending your letter.
Today we went to Keydell nurseries and went round the halloween walk which I enjoyed, then we went to pick a pumpkin, I chose a nice round one.
Iv enjoyed going to the cinema and yesterday I saw Jonny English. I went to London last week to the Shrek experience, I very much enjoy going to London especially the train journey. I also got to go to London for my birthday, we went to the British transport museum and looked around all the old buses and trains.
Iv enjoyed going for walks along the beach and the country parks near me.


I still love going shopping and shopping vochures for christmas would be great.


I will email again soon and send photos with the next email, if you would like to send photos back that would be great.

I remember the struggle you had to get her a good place Moonie so it's lovely that she is so well settled.

There must be something in our family genes as Annie's support workers say she makes them laugh all day and the staff at my mum's care home say the same thing about my mum.

I turned down lots of places before this came about as there were no local council run places

Brooklands is a private group home that opened a few months before Annie moved in.

Her move in was delayed due to finding funding. I actually started looking for a place when Annie was 16 and this one turned up 9 years later.
