Is it possible to permanently delete the small pics/icons that appear on the GC page that track the websites I've visited? I prefer my Bookmarks and although I've searched, I cannot find the answer. Are they pics or icons?
Thank you.

Hello Gill, I had this problems afew months ago.. was tired to see
all the websites, I had visited as soon as you open chrome or a new tab.
After searching for few days, came across an extension called "Show apps in new tab"
This will now open the apps window and keep your history private.

To answer your question.. To delete a particular website.. if you keep the mouse over it, you should see a tiny x appear (most times its hard to see against the background) and you can delete it, but that area will be filled up with another website you visited.
Hope this helps
Thanks for the reply shabbird.
I tried what you suggested but that didn't work unfortunately. The only way I can get rid of these annoying icons/pic is by going incognito.

aaawww Im sorry it didn't work. There should be an easy way to get rid of it.
searched youtube and came with this video. Its similar to the link I gave above.

So, it's either theme or the thumbnails - you can't have both. I'll stick to the theme and stick to google.co.uk or is it com. In fact why did I go to GC only to get something that's a PITA? pain in the posteria, butt etc.
Thanks again shabbird.

This works Gill...copy and paste into address bar:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...filij?hl=en-US
You will be offered a new extension to Chrome...add it...and "Lo and behold!" - a clean tab page
Ian
That'll do very nicely, thank you Ian.
Originally I copied/pasted but by clicking the link you gave (opened in a new window) I went straight to the correct page.
I also lost the Bookmarks tab but that was easily put right.

Up until mid 2013 it could be switched off by switching Chrome to developer mode and hitting the API "switch". That particular switch was removed somewhere around July of that year...and updates of Chrome have not reinstated it. However, as you see this one works....I did not realise that it might affect Bookmarks ( it did not for me) but that probably depends upon other items you have checked in the "wonderworld of Chrome!"
Copy and paste misses out part of the address if I remember correctly.
Glad you got that fixed and Bookmarks are now in place!
