Thread: Holiday Notice - Price needs to be displayed on the listing page

  1. #1

Default Holiday Notice - Price needs to be displayed on the listing page

A bit of a no-brainer and something that is quite important.

When listings are under a holiday notice there is no price visible on the item page.

So if someone is arriving from google.co.uk or google.com (organic) directly onto a listing then they will not know what the price is. As that is likely to be the most important thing they are looking at I believe it should be present in a similar way as starting a listing with a delayed custom start time.

The danger of not having the price visible is that a potential new user doesn't interact with eBid any further than the landing page, because the information they need is not present. If the price was available - then if they want the item they are likely to return. Even more importantly they would likely check out what else is available on eBid if they already see a competitively priced item that they need.

So can we please have a similar set up for listings under a holiday notice that is present on a delayed custom start time where a price for the item is visible.

Well, I do agree that the price should be visible in the listing during this time, allowing the buyer to make a decision to go elsewhere of wait.

However, not sure that a potential buyer would arrive at the listing via google shop search, as the Buy-it-Now option is temporarily disabled and therfore not fulfulling google requirements...

If a search is made on the seller in the 'normal' way: viz. a shop search or name search on eBid itself, then the price is shown in the list of items at least...

That is correct. As stated Google Organic (Google.co.uk, Google.com etc) - not Google Shopping.

I have people at the moment landing directly on listings that will not give them the price of the item.

    Excellent - thank you.

I don't think it affects me so much, but other sellers and the site would certainly be losing out. But I had two newbies join up yesterday to tell me they were going to purchase items when I re-open and I am not entirely sure that one of them actually knows what the price is.
