I haven't seen any spammers as yet & if I close the thread it stops others giving their opinion on their tastes in music.
Why would there be a need to close a thread for discussing a particular taste in music?...whats wrong with some of you people?...i wasn't aware that Bill Haley did a version of "me and Bobby Mcgee".
Talking of Bill Haley....i was surprised to hear (many years ago) that he was quit mature in age when he did so well with Rock around the clock and did he pre date Elvis?...i'm quite a lover of "See you later Alligator".
I think a lot of people, more this side of the pond, are unaware of Bill Haley's contribution to country music. He certainly did pre-date Elvis in R & R,on one of his albums he's introduced as "The original, the king of rock & roll..".
I had the privilege of seeing the Comets in one of our local clubs quite a few years ago, sadly Bill had died prior to that but the performance by men in their seventies was spectacular.I'll try & dig out the vid' of MBW dancing in her wheelchair.
Rock around the country, which my video link is from,is a companion album to Rock around the clock. This is another one from that album,"Man,y'oughta be lookin' at 'em from this side!
