It is a matter of scientific fact that carbon emissions contribute to global warming and therefore climate change. This is fact and cannot be challenged. What is not a matter of certainty is how much amongst other factors have carbon emissions contributed to the current situation. The only genuine debate to be had, therefore, is how much of current climate change is due to carbon emissions. The truth probably is that carbon emissions have caused some but not all of current climate change and that we should therefore continue efforts to minimise carbon emissions. The recent UN report was very focused on pointing the blame heavily at carbon emissions. Fracking does not support the minimisation of carbon emissions.
Regarding security of energy supplies, the current aggression that the USA and the EU are showing towards Russia over the Ukraine is likely to ensure that Vladimir Putin moves Heaven and Earth to get signed next month the new Siberian pipeline gas deal with China that will meet around 25% of Chinese gas needs within a few years. Once that is in place, Russia will be less dependent financially upon selling gas and oil to the West. If the West wishes to continue to try to bully Russia, countries in the EU would be wise to ensure that collectively they are not so dependent upon Russian energy. Although greener sources of energy might seem expensive now in Europe, they will not seem nearly as expensive if there is a seismic shift in who Russia sells its gas and oil to. Vladimir Putin is the clever one and the tough one that the West should not underestimate. He is a lot smarter than they are and if they are not careful will teach them the long overdue lesson that they should show respect for other nations.
Going off topic, with regard to the amount of fruit to eat each day, it is a matter of scientific fact that the correct functioning of the physical body depends upon a large number of chemical processes. The role of chemicals that act as enzymes in the body is important. The enzymes that occur naturally in food get damaged by heat in cooking processes. Therefore, physical health will improve as the amount of raw uncooked food increases in the diet. Raw meat carries bacterial risk as do uncooked vegetables due to bacteria present in soil. Uncooked fruit is a better option for addressing the enzyme deficiency that many people eating western diets suffer from.
Thank you.
