    Default Setting up store categories

    Hi
I'm new to ebid, trying to set up my store, have added the logo and set store details, status and colours in section 2,now trying to add store categories and sub-categories,will not work, there doesn't appear to be any way of saving them,I've tried using the "arrange in alphabetical order" which says "saving your changes",it then reverts back to the store set-up page and there is nothing showing in the category or sub-category section, until I do this I can't put my store online.

Please help an extremely frustrated user.

You type each one into the box and then hit "Add parent category now" or "Add Subcategory now"

    Is that not working?

Thanks Madelaine,I have that button now,I didn't to start with for some reason,I think it could have been something to do with asking ebid to change my username.

    Thanks again

    Hi,

I'm afraid I'm having exactly the same problem and feel sooooo frustrated that there aren't little Help boxes next to each category that I'm on the verge of abandoning EBid altogether. I find it TOTALLY unuser friendly - they need to pump so much more development into the site, that's for sure!

I don't get this Parent Category thing. I'm trying to set up my store, I've added the Category & Sub-category at the top of the page before you set the colour schemes, so what are these parent categories for? Also, when I type something in, say womenswear, and click 'add parent cat now', it simply gives me another blank box but doesn't register that I've typed in Womenswear in the box above. It just tells me that each category needs to be at least 2 characters long!

If someone could help that would be great! x

This really is not a cutting comment but.

Once you have spent some time here you will find the site very flexible.

Agreed it does take a bit more effort than Feebay.
