Default Yet more issues with Google Products feed.

    1. All letters 'a' - both upper and lower case are being stripped from descriptions. See: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ast...w=1680&bih=845

    2. You are still forcing all lower case apart from the initial capital in titles.

    Example:

My correctly formatted title: The Hot Rock (1972) VHS PAL Video - Redford, Segal

What you submit: The hot rock (1972) vhs pal video - redford, segal

What you are submitting actually breaks Goggle's rule that titles should use correct grammar.

I don't know why eBid seem unable to get a Google Products feed right. It is hardly rocket science.

Every time they fix something they seem to break it somewhere else.

Interesting - using similar search terms, [ebid anniemcc2] none of my listings came up on Google Products And all my stores bar Books have exemption.

    So where are they?

That search will only return your items that are not in a store. You need to search on a store name, e.g. ebid "annies book attic", or something that is unique in your listings (my tip at the bottom of http://www.mootango.webspace.virginm...idkb.htm#a0040 is good for this).

    Hi Mel,

    1. Fixed.
    2. If ratio of capital letters is high then they are lowercased to make sure they are not rejected.

    Thx,
    Gazza

    1.Ta.

    2. You used to have a working (sort of) system where lower case was forced only if there was a sequence of upper case (I think it was 12 consecutive characters). This allowed proper capitalisation (e.g. VHS, CD-ROM, PAL, M&S, etc.) to pass through correctly. Now, it seems, nothing but the leading capital gets through.

To take another example from my listings:

BNC Plugs. Inline clamp on style. Quick assembly. 5 off

That is hardly over-egged with capitalisation, yet still gets reduced to:

Bnc plugs. inline clamp on style. quick assembly. 5 off

'BNC' should be all capitals. Characters after a full stop punctuation should definitely be upper case. For a title it is even grammatically correct to capitalise each word in the title (which is what I normally do).

I feel you are going too far in trying to force titles to what you think Google wants. Google says they want grammatically correct title formation. What is being fed is not.

Bump! eBid's Google Products feed is still destroying proper capitalisation in listing titles.
