When viewing my listing, it adds to the number of views for that listing.

Hello All,
I am new to Ebid and I have noticed one thing I would like to see changed. When I click on my listing to revise or just to see how it looks, it adds me to the total count of the number of viewers. It is very minor, but I like to see the number of people who have viewed the listing without me included. Just a minor suggestion.

When you click on your listing to "just view it" are you going in on a new tab? If so, then you would be counted as a view. But when you are logged into your account and clicking on your listing off the My eBid page(s) it should not add a count to the listing. Double check what/how you are looking at your listing(s) and then I would suggest contacting support@ebid.net ...they'll help you out for sure.

I'm not sure if it matters which way you enter a listing to look at it.....I thought it added a view. Anyway, I don't think the views are particularly accurate, as I've seen them fluctuate up and down! Also, I believe some views are bots running around the internet, and not people views.....so it may be a bit misleading.

All auction sites have problems in this area.

But the suggestion above about logging in first is a good one!
That way ebid "should" know its you.

I am going to install Google analytics on some of my listings soon to see just how many are bots etc.

I get far more views on ebid than on ebay which is patently the wrong way round.

Hopefully some day we'll all be saying that's the Right way round!

Agree with this comment. It makes it difficult to determine how many actual visits. Thanks appreciate it.

Thanks for the information. Regarding google analytics? I have been researching. The code information they give you? Does this have to be in each listing in order for google to track. I just put it on My About Me Page? I guess this is not enough. I am very new and would appreciate some advice on where this information needs to pasted in from google in order to analyze the traffic coming in.
