They just had to make me wrong this year

"A FIRST! A proof fine silver dollar coin "

    http://www.mint.ca/

Prior to this year they didn't make proof coins

I don't think this justifies a whole catagory for them
    My clutter

I don't play the reserve game

Maybe what I have got to list doesn't justify a category.

Right now, I'm looking at about 2 dozen proof sets from 1978 to 1990.

In fact, I ordered them from the Mint for my parents because they collected them.

I'm also looking in my coin book and lo and behold, they are classified as "proof sets".

    So I beg to differ.

But if Gazza doesn't think that a category is warranted, then that is fine.

    Just thought I'd ask.

    :-)

Purchasing those coin sets from the Mint yourself removes "the shadow of doubt" as to what you are dealing with. Twenty-four consecutive proof sets seems to warrant a category. Particularly if Canada has made actual proof sets in a defined set of years. It is a specialty grouping.

The 1975 Canada Silver $5 Coin is a "proof coin".

Thanks for your help again, Burgyeb.

I'm trying to learn. The next one that I'm looking at listing is 1980 and that one is a double dollar "proof like set". And I found a couple of specimen sets.

    Maybe
Coins > North America > Canada > Sets

I'd just like somewhere to put these sets instead of just "Other".

Gazza, I notice that you are working on categories. I wonder if you would consider

Coins > North America > Canada > Sets

I've sold most of the sets that I've listed and I have quite a few more to list.

    Thanks,
    :-)
