Listing shows in subcategory but not in overall category search

I don't know if it's the operator that is the problem, me that is or is there a glitch in the system.

I began to wonder if I had listed a ski bag correctly, since I had no views, so went in to check on it. I have it listed under sporting goods - skiing - equipment. When I do a general search under sporting goods, then click on 'skiing' it shows 118 items in 4 different categories (clothing, equipment, footwear & other). If I look at all items, not going into any specific subcategory, my item does not show up. But when I go into a subcategory of 'equipment' it does show up. What's with that?

Ok, so you know when your car is doing something funny and you finally take it to the repair shop....and then it doesn't do it??? They look at you funny, like yeah right lady, heh, heh, heh,.....

Well, I did this search 4 or 5 times with the same result. I even logged off and went back in just to make sure. Well, now after your reply, I went in again to try again and, yep... pops up first try! Oh, well...at least it wasn't the car

I've had this item 50932526 up for almost 12 hours and my main keywords, 2.54mm Jumpers, aren't showing up at all.
I hope it's not the (.) because that defines the exact size it will fit into and important for buyers to find it. If this is the problem, then listing specific sizes as seen above will make ebid useless to me.

Any help will be appreciated.

Main and only keywords buyers use for this.

If I take out the size, I find it.
it's the 2(.)54mm that's killing my ability to be seen where I need to be seen. Too many variable sizes after the dot that make a huge difference on what they'll fit into.
I used to list them here with no problems,
Shame this site, search, won't work for me or a lot of others that need to be precise after the (.).
This would lose my listing in Google too.

Search should have brought up something under the 2.54mm alone.
If I get nothing, buyer won't.
They shouldn't have to jump through hoops to find anything listed here.

2.54mm, the shortest of my keys brought up 0 results as does Jumpers or any combination thereof when you enter them in the search bar at the top of any ebid page..
