Unhappy Google Shopping changes - real difficulties

I have just read Gazza’s latest update re Google Shopping (in eBid News) with some concern. As I sell mostly second-hand items including lots of photos I will not, in most cases, be able supply the necessary information to enable my listing to be uploaded to Google Shopping. I am aware that a lot of my sales come through Google and I am selling quite well currently. This news sounds really serious, what do others think?

    Gazza also stated:

We will be introducing a system that will allow our sellers that have products that cannot pass any of the above tests to apply for exemption in the coming days.
I'll just wait and see what happens.

Will make no difference to me as I am still waiting for the mechanism from eBid to get my listings uploaded to Google Shopping in the first place! I can see why this news would cause concern to many though...

Starting to sound as if Google is heading down the eBay path - they don't want the small seller who is disposing of their life clutter. Such stuff has no barcode (or if it did the box with it on is long gone), the maker (brand) may well not be known either as the item is not marked (that was on the aforementioned box, if it ever had a box, also).

Like all companies that achieve dominance in an area, they are starting to make dictates for the sake of it.
