Well now, I made all of these in the past when I had a little more time:

Excellent! All liked and shared
These are all old now, most with the old logo and URLs. As simple as they are, I find it really hard work making these. Wish I had time to do more - most of these items have sold now.
The key to getting a better chance of your videos being viewed is in good keywording and for other users to leave comments on your video, and by clicking the 'like' button.

All liked! Great vids
It seems that often (daily?) on the forum we get requests for more buyers, more advertising etc. Then when we try to get something going hardly anyone is interested in helping (many thanks to those who have participated - I will say that upfront - THANK YOU!)
On EBID, we have to help our selves, not expect it to be done for us.
I created the above video as a way of trying to get some viral marketing going to show the ebid staff what they could do very cheaply.
The problem? only 60 views, 2 comments, 3 likes (and some of them are me). I know it is only a few days over the weekend, but it shows either there are FAR FEWER active users on this forum / Twitter etc or really people just want things handed on a plate.
Now to be quite honest I could not care less, the video was not great - but just a way to show owners what could be done very quickly (20 mins using screen grab - Camtasia)
But the ONLY way viral marketing works is by people liking, adding comments and sharing it - that is what gets it higher in the rankings. when it gets higher in the rankings people have a look out of interest - THAT WILL THEN BRING CUSTOMERS.
That means you lot on here liking and sharing things even if you don't think they are very good. Looking without liking and sharing is largely meaningless. You know about Ebid, you have to force it onto others so they see it
Sorry, rant over. Not getting at anyone, and again thanks to those who have participated.
I will just crawl over here, and put my tin hat on
16,000 missed chances for ebid user's views and comments about ebid.net to be seen
I agree more or less, with everything you have said in the above post. I was quite active on here in trying to get people interested in using social networking sites such as twitter, flickr and youtube to get the general ebid.net message across.
My simple little youtube videos have had over 16000 views. The videos allow for comments to be left beneath. That is 16000 opportunities for ebid user's thoughts and comments about ebid.net to be seen. Yet I can count on one hand the comments from known ebid users, that have been left over the course of the two years or so the videos have been up on Youtube. I am not concerned with any ego-massaging of my crappy little videos. By posting the videos on youtube, I am hoping ebid user's will create a discourse in the comments section (which people DO read), and the more comments that are left and replied to will make the chances of an ebid related video, if keyworded properly, to come higher in the search rank for a non-ebid related search.
For it to work it takes an amount of teamwork - this means not just creating an account in these types of social networking sites, dropping the name ebid.net somewhere once or twice, then going away - but being proactive, long term, and this needs to work in tandem with other ebid users within these social networks.
Anyone who posts on ebid.net forums regularly can't have the excuse "I don't have time" - If you spend time gassing on here - where the only people you are reaching are established ebid users - surely some of that time can be spent getting the ebid message across elsewhere, where people who may not have heard of ebid.net can be reached.
Of course you need to spread the word in a way which is not directly 'spammy'. Sadly what I am seeing on Twitter, when I do a search for ebid is link after link after link back to listings here, which is fine if you want to pimp your stuff, but doesn't really say anything about ebid to those who haven't heard of it.
It doesn't take five minutes each day to find something ebid.net related on social network sites and go in and say something positive about ebid where comments can be left. If we ALL spent five minutes everyday leaving a comment or contributing to a group saying something good about ebid, the information would build, and have more chance of being seen.
