when searching I would like to see a column with bids and when you look at the item have bids displayed more clearly.
when searching I would like to see a column with bids and when you look at the item have bids displayed more clearly.
And I'd like to see people do a quick forum search to see if the topic had been covered ad nauseam before starting a new thread but I think we're both setting ourselves up for disappointment.
Da Boyz bowed to pressure from some forum members and showed a bid column for a while but removed it when it shown to be detrimental to sales.
While the majority of sellers who use the auction with buy now format for their listings only have a few cents or a dollar difference between the two prices there is little incentive for anyone to bid. Even feebay, who seem to be actively discouraging auctions in favour of BIN, have realised that this practice is counter-productive and are not allowing BIN prices unless they are at least 40% higher than the opening bid price.
Yes, the site has grown in listings and members since the last experiment with showing bids but I don't think the STR on auction listings has improved to a point where having a bidding column would be anything other than a negative move. So, until the majority of sellers who use the auction format do so in a way that encourages bidding activity, I don't see the point of a column to highlight how little there is.

CMEJewellery For all your jewellery needs.
Beads 'n' Bobs For beads.
Charms 'n' Findings For charms and jewellery making supplies.
On fleabay people often dont bid until auction almost ended hoping to get a bargain, is that the same here ? Your response to the issue of not knowing/seeing who if anyone is bidding seems to be saying that no-one is buying from here ? That's very worrying.
I would agree that I would definitely like to see if bidding has started on an item. Really sad to say I haven't seen anything selling yet. Friend and I have just spent £50 each joining (that we cant afford to loose) and getting a bid worried ..... Seems to be quite a bit of stuff listed can anyone tell me what is selling from this site ?
Books
Low cost collectables
Vintage
These are the top sellers AFAIK
Ebid is growing and you have both made a good investment IMHO
Just keep listing, read the forums for tips and make sure your items are well priced.
Some people make sales in a few days, others take a few months.
Keep posting in the forums.
Make your items with a BIN and run for 7 days with 10 auto-relists.
That way they get to the top of the browsing lists and should go to GPS.
Post in the Plug Your Auctions forum (only one post is allowed)
Your About Me page is nice, but you probably need more than 6 auctions!
Maybe try to post a few new ones each day ?
There currently is a bug with showing bids,
You see, for all buynow listings with multiple items, if one or more items are sold it counts them as bids.
You can manually search for items with bids "Popular Auctions", you need to copy paste the link below and change the category id number you wish to search, see the red number below
but as you can see you will still get the bug as described above.Code:http://uk.ebid.net/perl/main.cgi?view_format=gallery&categoryid=9&mo=exciting&type=busy

Hi
Thanks for this,
lol - yes am planning to put more on but had grandchildren here last few days.
I will be adding more stuff as I go along - want to sell here rather than, you knowwhobay, but will take some time to switch.
I aiming to give site a good try and will do my best to promote it to others as well.
Had been thinking of changing to auction and relist if not sold, so that confirmed what I thought so really helpful.
Is there a way of going straight to any replys to forum posts ? or do we just have to check them for a response ?
Whats AFAIK ?
Really sunny here today after rain for couple of days, and have suffered a chicken attack in my polytunnel - so need to be out in garden right now but will be on again later.
Thanks again
