Pretty sure we all know the ads are a source of revenue. The suggestion here is to replace ads to deter temptation to link off our pages into competitors.

I'll give up on this thread. Just took another look and 3 out of the 4 on the left are not penny auction sites and one of them is an ad to but ebay stock.
I don't know maybe my thought process on this is all wrong but I just don't understand.
Worldwide I can only think of automakers to use as a comparison. I don't go to Toyota's website and find a Volkswagon or General Motors link or ad encouraging Toyota shoppers to click on a link for the competition. How can the same situation be accepted here.
I cannot put a link to any of my sites unless affiliated with eBid in my listings but I can click on links to other auction sites anywhere I go on eBid!!???
Can someone help make me understand please?

Maybe if Toyota sold cars for pennies, they'd need the advertising revenue from VW. Since they don't, the comparison's irrelevant.

I don't see what the dollar amount has to do with it.

I do not sell guitars for pennies either and I certainly don't want competitors links to show up while someone is browsing my listing.

Maybe I should have used a comparison of McDonalds to Burger King and when you walk into a McDonalds you certainly won't find an ad or banner or website link to Burger King.

Then I'll quit now. If you don't get the basic concept there's little point in thrashing it over a dozen times just to disagree.

Please don't quit I truly don't understand the logic, seriously no sarcasm. I'm being honest.

Would rather pay 2% FVF and ignore adds than pay 10% with no adds, but on that other well known site when i get a sale on the btm of the invoice are loads of adds by my competitors and i pay a shop fee listing fee and a high FVF this does annoy me.

I believe you, and no offence is involved, I simply don't have the need to beat my head against this particular brick wall. In the end eBid will do as it pleases, so it's not that important.

I believe you when you say eBid will do as it pleases. It is their site. I appreciate your comments however I feel it is important and I am also sure Gazza has done as much as he is going to do on this subject which in fact was quite a bit, and it was also nice to see him posting here. Kinda gives ya a warm and fuzzy feeling.
